I just love Carbon fiber.... Unfortunately I broke mine and had to replace it. Not a bad replacement though!!!

Had to give a little more live. Changed the oil and filter, checked some ground cables and will check the rest tomorrow. Put the Solenoid back in and put it back together!!

* I removed the electric fan on the IC. I've been running without it plugged in since the new motor install. Might as well get it out.

I think I will replace the couplers with some real ones... ones that have some humps in them and real clamps to hold them in place.

So today I swapped the main yellow egi relay out and the small "main" fuse block in the engine bay out with new.
I am waiting on my adjustable diode thing. I will place inline with the alternator sensor wire. It is an adjustable one which will allow me (should allow me) to adjust the output in increments of .2 volts. I will probably select about a .4 volt increase as imo it is neither too high and should provide more than adequate voltage no matter what the situation it.

I ran it a bit today and played around with the boost setting on the Commander. Set at .75 returns about .85 boost... which is around 12.5 psi. I will monitor it for spiking and if all looks well I will set her back in the mid 13s and leave it. She is producing more than enough power at that boost level. For now anyway. After the diode thing is installed I will take it to the dyno in Ft. Lauderdale at AG automotive. They have a good dyno there and I will get a better idea of what it is producing!!

My over due voltage log.

I don't think I ever shared the hump hoses. Should help with flex on the UC and no more ic pipes popping off...that can be scary lol sounds like a 12 gauge shotgun.

Voltage issues fixed. Couple wires added. Bat directly to alternator, and bat directly to fuse block. This thing is fast. I will probably try another dyno session in the next couple days just for the hell of it. This car is pretty much where I want it performance wise. Acceleration, response, and handling, very happy day!!!

Never got around to the dyno. Instead went to Miami speedway oval track and what fun that was!!

Another fellow FD guy in Miami met me there and I believe we represented the Rotary world quite well.. I did a total of 21 laps and the car was flawless minus a primary boost issue which I had before I went. Hitting around 140 in the straights. The car was phenomenal around the corners and I am sure could have handled much more than I allowed. Water temps never got over 93 and it was a very hot day!!

I did want to give an update with the hump hoses. Totally worth it!!! I have not had one issue with them. Messing with the boost a bit I have hit 16psi on some spikes and had 0 issues with these popping anymore. I am running 14 constant. I will still be swapping my 2200s for id1700s, and doing a few more cool air mods for the IC/Intake, and brakes. I will also need a more heavy duty clutch as I can tell this one will not last too long at this power level. Good problem to have I guess. I still need some fine tuning as the afr are a bit rich at 12-14 psi (10.0-10.1), but I would prefer losing a bit of power vs having other issues for now. The water injection should be keeping it clean. This is a very well behaved sequential fd that can still show some modern V8s what's up. Pretty cool and pretty proud of the outcome.

Time to let the bank take a breather, start cleaning/detailing and add some more thermal management. Decide what I will do next. Power wise I need an apexi and maybe a fuel pump and tube. That will complete the power mods. I may Start on suspension or something easy like stereo and finish up the interior. She definitely needs wheels and needs to be dropped an inch, but damn these tires are in good shape.... for now.https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...aeba0041c7.jpg

Hey i got the same Pettit intercooler like you can you tell me how to hook up the intercooler fan wire to the radiator fan? Pettit did 't have any instruction on that.

Looking good. Keeping the temps down is definetly a must. Brap on

it would splice into one the Fan relays if you want to keep it as Pettit intended. After the China fan started to squeak a bit I upgraded the fan with a mishimimoto (a more expensive China brand lol). I ended up getting rid of it all together as you can see in my later pics. I didn't really feel there was much benifit. It clocks flow while moving and is another electrical load while sitting still. It didn't help much with heatsoak when sitting still. Maybe with a vented hood it would help a bit. I would call Pettit to make sure.. They are usually very helpful. Not sure what boost your running, but I would consider the hump hoses for sure. Very good quality and will flex. If your 12psi or greater you will need them after awhile imo.

Thanks Spin! Yeah the N-flo is phenomenal to be honest. If I wasn't in such a hot state it would be overkill. I need to get my oil temps lower as they will sit about 10-15 l°f hotter than I would like to see. If they are much lower though my coolant would probably drop to the point where it is getting too low lol. I actually need to flush the N-flo soon. I just hate to mess with something if it isn't broke. I registered for Deal's Gap. I plan on trailering up there. Not sure if your going or not.

It is not looking good for deals gap for me. I am not sure if I am going nor not at this point. My car is currently under construction. I have the rear suspension out and the diff out for the super pro bushings. Trying to refresh the suspension so I can go visit Cam for suspension tuning. I will be going to the Seebring IMSA race this Saturday. I wont be in the Fd though

SARD fuel pressure reg is installed and set @ 43.5, ID1700s are installed and it is back tuned at 12psi and running flawless. Finally got some good turbo control going with a nice transition. I may tune it back to 14 on this up coning road trip. Installed the ceramic coated and now wrapped hard intake pipes. Installed fire extinguisher mount, changed some fluids and tightened everything up. DGRR here we come!!

Testrun 01-28-23 03:46 PM

Long overdue update.

Last year's DGRR was absolutely awesome. I met so many cool people there and got to put some names with faces. I am surprised I never got on here to boast about this. Amazing time! This car far exceeded my expectations and is at home on roads like "The Dragon". I can honestly say there isn't many other cars I would rather be in for the sheer enjoyment and connection.
With that in mind 2023 DGRR is on the way. I had a pre turbo exhaust leak that was terrible and finally got around to getting it fixed. Somehow 2 exhaust studs broke. According to the Pros it was metal fatigue. well, lets hope so and hope it doesn't do it again. I replaced every gasket with new and all new studs. Definitely wasn't cheap. I had the opportunity to stick a camera up the rear rotors exhaust port. Everything looks smooth, well lubed, and ready for fun. From what I could feel with my stubby middle finger the housing felt smooth as can be.

We installed an ACT clutch I've had laying around forever. Should be more than adequate for my power levels. It feels strong as it is breaking in. Along with the clutch we changed the
tranny fluid. Switched Redline for Royal purple to see if there is a change. Super smooth so far.
Oil change. My usual Royal Purple HPS.
Plug change all 9s. Considering doing 9L and 10T,
and verified the tune with the now no leak exhaust! I need to change the brake fluid and it should be ready for this years DGRR and some runs down on the Homestead Raceway!

Hope to see you at DGRR again this year! I'm bringing the FD in whatever stage of paintwork it's in :)
