Seems like a long and round-about way to run the hot side IC piping. Why did u guys decide to run it like that as oppose to re-clocking the compressor housing and making the piping shorter? Could have eliminated about 2 ft. of piping.

Yup I was thinking the same way. Kind of an unconventional way to route the hot side pipe. A straighter pipe would have been better IMHO. I also think the way they tapped the top of the oil filler cap seems kind of odd. Are you going to have to remove that fitting every time you change out the oil?

It looks solid, I'm just thrown with a yellow car and red engine bay...Oh well.

Oil cap should just twist off. Mine old one was cracked so the OEM replaced it and prolly didnt want to chance cracking it or anything, Had I know about the pre tapped alum ones for sale I would have gotten one of those..

Also, they didnt want to have to relocated the OMP reservoir. So it was easier to change the pipe location.

Since we're talking about straightening pipes, can someone explain to me why all three examples in this thread (OP, red bay, and blue bay) have the curve in the cold side piping? Seems like there is nothing in the way between the pipe coming up from in front of the radiator and the TB elbow, so why not straighten it?

I would agree and which is why when most shops make custom pipes they will be as straight as possible whenever possible. As in the case with my car (blue) and Austins old car (red). The cold side pipes as you see were customs or (modified off a kit pipe in my car) and made to be as straight as possible. The other side is just what was provided with the intercooler kit. If I had to have one made or modified as in the case of the original poster I would have had the shop make it straight and not just lengthen a curved pipe as they have done.

That being said you can do it however you like, It's comparing apples to oranges to argue perforance gains out of straight charge pipes as opposed to bent pipes. Just a matter of preference in my opinion. There is no right or wrong way. I assume he just asked the shop to install the parts as they saw fit.

Well in my car as you can see my dilemma. Pipe route A (light Green pipe) would mean I have to move and remount my OMP reservoir as marked by red X. Pipe Route B(Dark Green) would leave me no room for my intake on my turbo as shown orange X. So the simplest solution would be to go around it. The Cold side is bent the way it is because they had tried to conserve space for the battery so I didnt have to get the battery relocated,. but after the install there wasnt enough room, so it went to the trunk anyway.

looks good - sounds like your going to pay for the shops retirement by the time your done.

Im in about 22k parts and labor within the last year so far lol.

not a bad way to spend that hazardous pay...
