And my last upload for the night...my billet GTX3582R 1.06A/R:egrin:
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/y...1-11143203.jpg

But I'm really bad with making bonefied decisions... And I've been hearing/reading so much hype about the BW EFR series ...with that trick ass Gamma ti wheel that's supposed to make more power, come on-line quicker and be stronger.. I almost feel like putting my GTX up for sale and going with the equivelent sized EFR... I don't know.. any suggestions?!!

RuffRyder 03-29-11 03:16 AM

haha.. to tell you the truth.. I kinda like my sn now... I was thinking of making it my license plate haha. I'm gonna have bj do my manifold and route all my exhaust etc. And i'm just being stupid with wanting to sell this turbo.. it'll do very well haha, ...i just have this stupid obsession with wanting what I want. At a time..I did want the GTX..and it's prob an excellent turbo.. But the EFR just looks better.. lol. i'm an idiot. I'll talk to you soon evan!

Believe it or not.. I was able to find all the bolts that held my front suspension and steering rack on. So today I put on the rest of the suspension arms, Installed my Sake bomb Gorage  SS lines, Installed the steering rack and hooked all necessary linkages up.

I gotta get this baby rolling so I can put her on a trailor and move her to my new place. :icon_tup:

mannykiller 04-02-11 01:11 AM

On another note.. I recieved the following motor goodies:

NRS 3mm 1pc Ceramic Apex Seals
Dynamic Balanced Rotating Assembly W/3mm Rotors, E-shaft, Counter weights
New Rotor Bearings

Dear Rotary Gods... Please grant Un-rivaled strength to this motor, and your mighty artistic hands in whoever builds this weapon of mass destruction!!

I'll have to whore myself out to build another motor like this haha.

mdpalmer 04-03-11 08:54 PM

Looking good Aaron, that thing is going to be beast. Loving the pics, great build. That motor is solid :) You ever hit up Buttonwillow? When you get it squared away, let me know I know a couple of guys who put stuff on 1-2 times a year.

Update: Well today I spent quite a bit of time inspecting my axles. ..I'm no certified mechanic.. but they looked like they were in great shape. There was tons of cv grease in both boots. And no cracks or signs of wear on the boots. I did happen to break both of the metal clamps on the drivers side axle though... I felt ashamed of myself because I knew that they were going to break. I zip tied it for a little security until I get new ones. Also, I didnt realize that there were safety clips on the ends of the axles that go into the cv joint closest to the wheel. This took me a good 30 min to realize how to get them back in there without mashing the clip to wretched hell. I just tapped the pin slowly and worked my way around once I got just enough of the gap to where dthe clip would go in..but not come out.
And the most time consuming part of today was spent on both of my axle ends. In the beginning of the thread I posted a video of how I had to seperate the axles from the hub assembly and rotor. There was so much rust that they were literally binded together. We had to heat the whole thing with a torch and spray it with cold spray on and off about 5-6 times. Then hit it was a metal mallet until it finally broke loose. The end result was a loose assembly..but also mushroomed axle ends. So I took my trusty Dremel to them and ground them down nice and round to where I could fit the axle nut back on and over so it would thread properly. Cleaned up the axle threads with a little wire took for my dremel and put everything together. It's nice to have the rear end of the car in one piece again though. All I need now are the screws that hold all 4 rotors onto the hub assembly... So if anyone has any.. shoot me a PM.
And finally, my coilovers will be coming in Next week by tues or wed... So then the car will finally be rolling. Whats next? Caliper Rebuild, New Slotted Brake rotors, and search for a S4 T2 LSD unit.
until next time!

Got a nice little present in the mail from Rishie at Auto R & D. New coilovers: Stance XR's!! Got the 8/10 Swift Spring rates! Just from handling them....they just look and feel like solid ass coilovers. Can't wait to get on the road with them! Installed the rears earlier today, I'll get the fronts on tomorrow morning.

Did you get those to specifically match the black/gold theme or was it a coincidence?

Regardless those are nice

catch-22 04-11-11 11:36 AM

Wow great build! Little late now but if you put those wheel bearings in the freezer for a while there a lot easier going in.

Thanks, they weren't too bad actually. But that was prob because I had a good press set up for it.

You know what I just noticed though....I embarrasingly put on my front upper a-arms on the wrong sides.... I noticed this while looking at my fd suspension diagram. The bolt holes go to the front of the car... mine are in the back. I'll pull those off today and flip them to the correct sides. Aslo, My steering rack is giving me all sorts of problems because it won't budge.. almost locked as it seems. I'm guessing it's because the fluid has been drained? Either way... one hub looks straight and the drivers side looks... cock-eyed... I'll have to straighten that out.

mannykiller 04-12-11 12:58 PM

last night I switched my upper arms across <--switch-->. Then installed the Xr's. My old coilovers were tein flex's. And honestly I really did love them, So hopefully they'll live up to their hype. But just holding them compared to my flex's...they were just way more solid. They feel..like a single piece of metal, not overbearingly heavy though. I'll post pics of the coilovers installed when photobucket gets done doing maintenance. Hooked up my brakes for now and the car is ready to roll. Just need some lug nuts.. Its funny how you overlook the smallest parts

ughhh i love this!

mannykiller 04-13-11 10:19 PM

All that's left on my list for suspension is:
Front/rear Sway bars (looking for a Tri-point Front sway bar btw)
New Rotors
Rebuild and paint calipers, new brake pads

I'm also looking for some extended lug nuts.. i'm afraid all I want is some new Project kic R40's though. I feel like an idiot because I sold my last set to get the Volk Formula lugs.. but you can't run extended studs with them because the drive is on the inside of the lug.. which means : Mannykiller = Idiot. Therefore.. i'm looking for some descently priced new ones.
