It looks better in pictures. It was all done in stages, so up close it is a lot of different colors.
The UIM and compression elbow are ceramic coated, the intercooler piping is powdercoated, the irons and LIM are engine enamel.
The water pump and thermostat housing, alternator, and throttle body are MRO high solids paint.
I haven’t had any issues with any of it.
The ceramic and Powder coating are the most durable. Overtime the ceramic has greeted a little. Anything painted has chips and scratches in it from taking stuff on and off and just generally working around it.

Eventually I’ll repaint some of the odds and ends that have scratches, but right now I just want to drive. Haha

A lot of updates for the past few weeks!

Mounted my Davies EWP and modified the cross member to fit (Aka cut, bent and beat into submission. Probably to replace later)

Made a new line to vent my oil neck to a cheap amazon catch can.

Finally installed the Supra Fuel Pump that's been sitting on a shelf for far too long.

And got down to business finishing off the wiring

Really wished I had left more room to work out of the passenger side of the car.

The x-series gauges are great for read out and appearance, but their new low profile was actually a pain to mount.
Got inventive with some 1-1/2" pvc caps.

Scored some 10ga steel from the scrap bin and made a custom mount for the meth pump.
I used Dale Clarks idea to mount it to the frame under the steering column using some riv-nuts.

Also dropped in the Levy Rotor Gas Pedal

Now that I don't have power steering, I dropped in the Nardi Horn button.

AND Howard is finally back on his own feet.

ironically, the part of the build I am most excited about I have no pictures or video. Lol
I fired it up on Friday and took the initial test drive on Saturday.
The basemap from Turbosource worked flawlessly to get the car started.
Only had to add a little bit of throttle to keep the car going while cold.
Once it was warmed over 75 degrees it idled on it's own. Probably more from burning off the assembly lube than anything else.
Had a few wiring and coolant drips to sort out, but it ran great.

I have the EWP wired to run constantly right now waiting on the controller to come in, but I couldn't resist taking it for a roll around the block.
Kept it under 3500 rpm, but I could tell the EFR wants to spool like right now with everything it's got.
I'm really excited to break in the motor and see what this little 7670 can really do.

And to cap the updates for now, finally hung up my wife's Valentines Gift "Built Not Bought"

Everything looks great! I drool a bit every time I see one of the newer IWG turbos, it's such a clean setup.

Dropped in the Antenna Adapter from Half Spec Engineering and topped it off with "The Stubby" antenna.
Haven't tested out the reception yet, but looks clean!

Played around with my idle tuning and started getting some break-in miles on. Also picked up a used R1 strut bar and cleaned it up.

LOVE the engine bay dude. So frickin clean!

Now, relocate that damn battery to the bins and you’re set!!

In its place you can have a nice sized catch can, if you want.

Thanks!

I actually like having the battery up front. Not pretty, but I have the Turbojeff Battery tray and a S2000 battery.
Makes it easy to remove and jump if needed.
And I use the bins a lot. One always has premix in it and the other is for floating storage.
Would be nice to swap it out for a red top to keep with the color theme though.

All that's really left at this point is to hook up the wideband sensor. Left it out to burn off all the extra assembly lube.
Put the turbo blanket back on. I removed it to fix a small coolant drip on one of the turbo fittings. Not looking forward to that. It's a tight fit and that stuff is itchy!
And fix the coolant temp sensor for the EWP controller. I used the splice in connector and it is leaking when warm. I think I need to reseal the sensor itself.

I think my alternator is on it's way out too. Idling its nice and quiet, but if I hit the brake pedal or put on any additional loading, like lights, it will start chirping like a bird.
