Fanta Build Thread
Well well well.... Cough, cough.... Hey guys! Making this build thread to show the community what I'm building! This is also to keep myself in track & would like to get feedback/suggestions though out this build. Well let's start with a introduction!
Names Bobby, live in Colorado Springs, CO, and I am 18 years old (yes that is correct). Everybody asks me how I got this magnificent car, well back in 2006/07 this used to been my brothers car and well he blew up the motor (my pops theory is he was racing and dropped gears from 4th to 1st/2nd gear. So the car has been sitting till 2009, that's when I put on my big boy pants and wanted to get it back up running again! My pops is a retired DV (Disable Vet) from the Army so I had access into base so I got a job and saved for a rebuild kit & finally with the help from him I got her back up running!
How the car looked like back in 2009 wow haven't seen these photos in a long time lol
Well let's begin the build thread!!!

time for some body work & paint, I got the front number for free from another local FD guy here in town, it was cracked & tweak the look of the front bumper (changed the turn signal mold to 99 spec look)

What it looks like now

So yea I enjoyed it for a good 2 years with this setup loved, but time goes by and I kinda got bored and I wanted to change it up. I was always going to car shows & track days all the local guys participates in these type of events & I was always embarrassed of popping my hood open for shows & just be a spectator but I think it's time to build it right & have fun with it! I mean really look at this engine bay....
Before I start showing the process forgot what I'm building it for. I'm building this car to do some track & drags days occasionally & actually making my engine show car worthy haha. So here's my parts I'll be adding, power goals i want to achieve is at least 500hp but I'll be happy with 400-450, with the twins & power FC I made 325hp on a dynojet.
The goodies in the bay:
13B REW Street ported & dowell pinned
Goopy apex seals
Borgwarner EFR8374 external waste gate
Custom twin scroll manifold
Dual Tial MVS 38mm
Custom V mount setup intercooler & radiator
Greddy short compression tube
1000/2000cc Injector Dynamics
CJ Motorsports fuel rails
CJ Motorsports dual fuel pump hanger
Dual Walbro 450s
AN fuel lines
Surge tank (later on after the build)
Flex Fuel sensor
Haltech PS1000/Adaptronic PnP (still deciding)
innovate wideband
ACT 6 Pluck clutch
Custom ABS delete kit
Semi wire tuck
ImprovedRacing custom strut bar with master cylinder brace

Exterior:
Custom Sleek headlights (I've trying to make in a process)
Shine auto feed style front & rear fenders
Work wheels 18x10 offset 0 & 18x12 offset -2
Shine auto RE-A style diffuser
Interior:
Bride/sparco seats
4 point cage
Triple pod dash gauges

So I've decided to pull everything apart in October 2014 & started to pull stuff out day by day...

Got rid of the ugly filters & small intercooler people told me how my motor ran so strong haha

Bye bye twins!
Before I pulled my motor out I decided to send my car to get a custom turbo manifold from a local fab shop here in town (All Performance Garage). Ordered a exhaust flange so he can start from, I was very impressed & gave me a smoking deal on it love it!

During December of 2014 moving into the new year, we decided to leave my motor alone as a block to keep as a spare, my dad had a couple of housings & irons in his parts room so we decided to put a motor together a that's been clean, ready to go. We don't have a garage at our house and winter here in Colorado gets pretty bad! So why not bring all the parts inside of our living room! lol
I sent the housings, irons & LIM to get them
Street ported & dowell pinned to MVP Motorsports in San Antonio, TX. I'm very impressed with their work!

Took a pause during the build & started on the pops cars, he hasn't has his running since 2012 decided to work on his while I get more funds for my own. Recently in Febuary of this year my brother got a 20B sent to our house haha so we decided to pull my brothers motor that was already in & swapped into my dads.

I told him Spider-Man wants his car back lmao!

20B arrived
screw it slapping this bad boy in my haha jkjk.

So a month later got my pops motor already in just waiting to swap fuel pumps for each other cars but he went out of town for a good month so I've started to take all of the wires around the bay & clean it up to be sprayed to paint match the outside.

Bay painted!

I've decided to organize my inventory of what else I needed & I guess I'm missing a bunch of stuff I'm missing thanks to another local guy to help me point out what I needed so saving my funds to get more then it'll be time to start putting it back together!
Mounted my rear wheels, oh yea definitely need some work haha

Shine auto came in but it rained thanks UPS lol
This is my most recent picture I have as of my progress of this build mounted the feed kit to see what it looks lol.
I'll be making working on it more when I have more funds should be able to get all the internal parts
This is my progress for now, hope you guys enjoy the read! More to
Come till the next episode!

I was also going to point out you had a dent in your driver side door, but....
So is that the "shine auto" wide kit? I plan on ordering that very soon!
Have you decided the offset of rims you will be running?
Awesome build BTW!
yea I have so much stuff here & there it's incredible & this car went through about 3 paint jobs haha, and yes just the fenders I didn't get the front bumper or the rear diffuser. This is the offset of wheels I'll be running is he Works wheels up top, probably gonna have to camber it a little bit & slight stretch tires to fit the rear fenders, the front fenders & wheels are fine good to go.

I know im 31 but ask your dad to adopt me, I can build us all a garge. Haha.
Sweet build bro, the fab work looks nice and I love the Turbo choice. I'm jelly bro.

We were gonna build one in this house but since my parents will be moving to Florida he decided not to.
Well got little progress done for the past week. Started to mount my fenders, instead of cutting the rears I decided to roll the hell out of them and bend them out so it flushes with the quarter panel inside. I also picked up some 275/40/18s tire sizes for the rears from a local drift shop here lol I like the look of seems to be it will hit the fenders so I might go down on a size maybe 265s & stretch them. Here's a couple of pics

How it looks with rivets on them & wheels mounted, the fitment on these fenders I'll rate them 7/10. The front fenders the driver side was fine easy to bolt up but the passenger side I didn't align with the door so we made a bracket to make the fender stick out and align with the door. And now for the rear fenders passenger side was fine but driver side need some work cause there's a gas tank lid there so how they designed it was very ehhhh there's a gap between the fender & around the lid so I'm filling that gap with fiberglass here's a couple of pics

So my seals & internal parts are hopefully coming in today! So yesterday I decided to painted the housings & irons to make it more appealing haha but I might assemble to motor together later today or hit it strong tomorrow! I laid all my parts in the living room cause my closet was just getting filled & overtaking my room!
Looking good Bobby!
I love all the stuff in your living room, before I got married it was not uncommon to find all sorts of RX7 parts and or turbo/supercharger parts in my living room! Love the progress. The color reminds me of my Civic I painted in high school.
Well this week's progress, the seals & gaskets came in the mail so I went straight for the kill and started to build it. Here's a couple of pics of the build.

Studded the oil pan

Front cover installed

Next week I'm towing my car to a buddies house he's gonna be making me a custom abs delete out of copper hardlines so I can have my brakes back again lol then after that I'll be putting the motor mounts back in and finally put the motor back into the bay!

lol, what happens when you don't have a garage lol my buddy just used the stock proportioning value. yea I didn't want to go through like my dads build his is leaking right now, so we're have to lift his again and fix it.
This week got a lot of things done! Buddy of mine custom made my ABS delete kit with seamless copper brake lines broke one of the handles haha don't have any pics of the brake lines made just pictures of the product I will once I get a better picture of it when I'm off of my work week.

Finally got it back from my buddies so it is time to commence action! Put the LIM back, water pump, pulleys, motor mounts, and tranny for the initiation!

Looks to me there's suppose to be a spacer there for the injector dynamics to go in there so I'll have to put a pause on the fuel system till that arrives in the mail from CJ Motorsports

The motor is back in! And decided to test fit the turbo manifold & turbo for a teaser ohhhhh mannnn I love it lol

Fuel pump came in from CJ Motorsports can't wait to install these bad boys

CJ Motorsports sells some amazing stuff! I have all of their rails and Injector Inserts. I am going to some day by the fuel pump hanger. Awesome products! Love seeing the progress.
Yea love it & simple too and I guess the new designed fuel hanger is a lot better to put the fittings & looks cooler too based on what my other friend said lol.

Heres to rebuilding your engine in your living room! lol!
