That's not a bad idea. I haven't seen the combo lights painted the same color as the car yet. They might look cool with the chrome turned to white. A lot of 350z guys paint the chrome in the housings to match the car.

So after Yesterdays 'Supra vs 7 etc" meet, i think its game time.. its time to get back to working on the FD...
I finally got the other recaro seat a few weeks back, so i need to fabricate the bracket/rail for it.
my alternator/pulley self destroyed itself.. maybe the nut was loose, but the nut chewed the pulley face.......
headlights and wipers havent been working for weeks. Yes, i know its from not putting the headlight covers on, whoops. forced up grade sooner then i expected lol..... SO im starting to develop my own headlight kit (at least i think)
my interior SUCKS. im going to gut it again. all plastics are going to be vinyl wrapped matte black. dash will be recovered in........suede? undecided. door cards- hate them. feel cheap and the tabs and all that crap, are well, crap. Ill be making CF skins soon. probably make FG version of the center trans tunnel plastic since i ALWAYS lean on it and it cracked. (putting your battery behind the dr seat with bucket seats and having a pos car that you always have to access it = broken trans tunnel plastic)
99 spec side skirts. i freaking want them on. but they dont clear the 255 in the front..... im going to order 235's which i doubt will clear the skirts so i will have to shave/ do custom work to them........... also the front sits higher then the back which looks like CRAP. 235's should help me lower it.
Need to redo the VMIC setup. I want to raise the radiator a bit. the hose on the bottom is becoming sketchy. I also think im scrapping the dual oil cooler set up. I will just run 1 FC oil cooler in the nose (cut outs) of the bumper. all those lines need replacing as well.. the push lock hose/fittings SUCK.
probably a ricer spoiler here and diffuser somewhere (if i ever have the time to make another one..........)
oh yeah, almost done making the passenger side foot rest... just gotta figure out some finishes...

Ok I need some opinions. I'm making a engine cover kinda like panspeeds for my car. im stuck with what to do about triming the edges around the engine itself. Im torn between...
- Trimming it close to the engine so there is MINIMAL (kinda like the back of the UIM)
OR
-Trimming it wider giving it more clearance around the motor (kind of like the left side and right side)
Input? Also note how the back of the cover follows the contour of the engine, do you think it would look better just straight across?

it will, the flat part with the trim out of the engine will have a lip downwards, and the sides will have dimension where the top cover will meet the strut tower
this helped me get a better visual, and im deciding what i like/want to change before i go further... this isnt cheap!

bored with the car so planning for another over hauling winter.
some progress on the engine bay cover... well I actually redid the flange because the previous one was slightly off and it was bothering me to no end.
rough trim
then i got really bored with the 99 spec bumper.. trying to make some canards to make it a little more aggressive. didnt come out how i planned... well i actually didnt plan it. i was winging it as i went. I dont think the 99 spec lip will go with they style canard. i might just make a completely new lip that will attach to a "cut" 99 spec bumper -- expanding the stock openings
also cleaned the garage a bit yesterday and came across a ton of parts that i still need to install. =(

Benny, I have a throttlebody I tore apart you can have for free bro. You can just transfer over the linkage assembly after you paint it. Just pay for shipping if you want it. You got my number.

small update... finished designing, and laying up fibgerglass of the "rough" shape. Tomorrow will be trim, smooth everything out and make pretty!
