I like this color better than the other one.
I still don't understand why no one has tried the Soul Red Mazda color on an FD yet. It makes all their other cars look pretty great. Their latest blue is also nice. @spintriangles the car is beautiful. The new pics in the sunlight look fantastic. |
Here is my car in Soul Red Crystal Metallic

Su Maverick your car looks great in that color

I like to thank Interigity paint shop of St Cloud Fl for the paint job. Kilo Racing for the engine build and tunning. In this rotary world it is hard to find good mechanics and auto body guys who do good work. I have had my share of headaches. The sad thing is a lot of people blame the car, car owner or the rotary engine for the fd reliability. In my case in the past it has just been the mechanics and auto body guys who have caused me problems. Now that I have found some good guys to work on my car I am happy. I do thank those other morons for helping me learn how to work on my own car. Brap on more coming from this build.

I think the Victory Red looks great, hard to tell the difference between that and the original VR on this iPhone screen.

Haning out with some rotard friends. Brap on!!! |
As the build continues there are still some items to tackle. Next will be the shift knob. I have read many threads about shifts knobs and I am still not sure what I am doing there. I have a oem shift knob and a 5sp shift knob. I am highly thinking about buying the carbon fiber re amemiya shift knob. I have not seen anyone say good or bad things about that knob. Hoping to make a decision by this weekend so I can go ahead and install my re amemiya short shifter. My decisions with this car are always very calculated.
|
Just be sure you get a proper threaded knob. I did years with the universal/set screw knobs, and they were guaranteed to come off in my hand once per track event.

Please chime in if you or anyone you know has good or bad experience with the re amemiya shift knob.

Are you talking about the carbon one?

Well I think I am pulling the trigger on the re amemiya carbon shifter knob. I am also looking at some other shift knobs on ebay just in case I get the re amemiya and dont like it. On the list of shift knobs if things fail is the 5sp miata, and mazda speed. All oem but those leather shift knobs always seem to wear and then look crappy. I bought a new oem 93 rx7 shift knob and it did not take long for the leather to look worn.

Thank you AE Racer. I am really enjoying my car and every time I tweak it a little it puts a smile on my face. It is a very calculated build and I dont want to ruin the car. Instead I just want to make it a little better. By the way I just subscribed to your build. Great build and I just took a glance at it. I will sit down and read through the thread in the near future. I was at the 12hrs of Seebrig for the IMSA race. I dont know how I did not see your car. Brap on brother
Thank you. I was near turn 10. I go every year. Hit me up next time. |
Ok I pulled the trigger and bought the re amemiya carbon shift knob. The website states that the knob has three adjustments. I think I will be happy. I will know when I install it. Stay tuned I am excited.
