Its not too bad :D

Went to a streetcar event at PBIR this past weekend, beat a tt mercedes then lost to a alpha9 on c16.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WteaCTe2Oc

Was fighting a few issues because I lost my intake pipe had to run no hood and still heat soaked really bad. First time running a trans brake and 2step had some fun. Ran 13# on that last run 1.5 60ft 9.6 @144, the gtr did a 1.7 60ft 9.0 at 170

Ordered this on Friday after 2pm, received Monday! Awesome job by J-Auto. We spun a rear wheel bearing at the last event, after 22 years and many high speed events the OEM bearings gave up lol. Now the fun part... to install

Got a new turbo for the car... I think this will motivate us to get a built rotating assembly or make for quick inspection of the crank at the track.

GT4788-r big step up from the BWS475 that is on it currently

David Hayes 08-22-15 09:58 AM

That is a big monster! If I remember correctly, you guys were already pushing the limits of your current setup. So, what else has to be redone? Is that what you mean by building a rotating assembly?

We can run this turbo as is for its benefits over journal bearings and it wont blow hot like the current one does at the top end rpm. But yes we will have to change out pistons/rods/crankshaft to really use it to it's full potential, possibly even goto a different block as the 4 bolt head blocks start lifting the head around 1600 crank (only 6 bolt are the LSX and LS7).

papsmagu 08-24-15 08:01 AM

j-auto is great......always helps me source hard to find parts for the old and slow cars i have......what boost do you plan on running with that new turbo? damn this car just gets faster and faster

for now, none. Need to upgrade the pistons/rods/crank then 34+ for around 1350 whp

This is how we looked 2 weeks before FL2K.

Chopped the fuel tank down and made it taller. Deleted the spare tire well

Made all new pipeing after the turbo, modded the old up pipe to move the turbo over to accommodate its 6in intake. went to a 5in downpipe. Also got a massive 22x12x6 in intercooler core from treadstone.

Kind lost track and stopped taking pics as crunch time approached and we barely made the event. didn't even have time to put a bov on. Still really proud of what we were able to accomplish in such short period of time. Have a few things to button up before the next race event hope to get a 1/4 mi event in before our next 1/2 mile. Want to get an 8s 1/4mi pass and 190+mph in the 1/2mi pass before we move on from this SBE ls3.

A few weeks ago a frenmy of our cough Rob Damh cough poked some fun at v8 swapped fds. Watched all of his rx7 videos and noticed not one serious tire fire. Had to show him how todo it!

ZoomZoom 07-16-16 11:57 AM

Robs YouTube channel has just turned into click bait. Maybe it always was.... I'd like it better if he knew how to actually work on a car. I can't hammer on him too badly though. He makes enough money to pay other folks to build this cool concept of a turbo 4 rotor. Hopefully it doesn't get lost again before it's finished.

Meanwhile real mechanics are making real car videos; thanks Mark!

Rocketeerbandit 10-09-16 11:35 AM
