SleeperRx7 = MIA

I bought a S5 TII engine harness from SleeperRx7 and he hasn't delivered. I Paypal'd him money through a credit card on Nov. 14th, but told him to hold off on shipping till I was sure I didn't need anything else from him. On Nov 27 he confirmed that I didn't need anything else and he'd ship the next day. That was the last I heard from him. I sent him PMs on both Dec 13th and the 20th with no response from him. There is at least one other person complaining in his for sale thread that they haven't heard from him or gotten their parts.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=708317

Here is the thread where he originally posted about his part out
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=704323

He was last on Dec 22, so he's surely gotten my PMs and has chosen not to respond.

I filed a dispute with Paypal and will keep everyone posted on the progress....

Still no word from him, could be he's out of town for the New Year....still he was on the 22nd and I sent him a PM on the 20th, so he could have made some kind of response.

JustJeff 01-01-08 04:04 AM

Just giving a bump to someone who's sharing the same problem I have

Jager 01-01-08 09:15 PM

It seemed pretty BS when I was e-mailed him a few times.

Sorry about all your loses.

JustJeff 01-04-08 03:06 AM

It's all thru Paypal and on a credit card, so hopefully it'll get worked out soon

JustJeff 01-08-08 08:32 PM

Still nothing...I'll have to see if there is fraud protection on the credit card.

JustJeff 01-13-08 11:45 PM

Ooppssss....made a mistake when I posted.....

JustJeff 01-13-08 11:46 PM

I escalated my paypal from dispute to claim. No contact from him.

I was provided his number by another forum member who bought parts from him in person. Called the number it's "unreachable" I googled everything I knew about him and found him on nopistons.com with a posting selling a turbo timer under the name Arnetts7, it's back in 2006 though.

http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...2&#entry844152

Anyone have any information about him?

rx7roller02 01-14-08 06:33 AM

your best bet at this time will be thru your credit card, if they have the fraud protection. Paypal will find in your favor if he doesnt answer but my guess is he has no money in that account for them to take. That is common when people scam someone these days.

I looked into fruad protection thru the card but it's only valid with in state purchases and then will only protect for remaining balances, not what has already been paid for. I'm hoping to find a physical addy for this guy so I can get the cops involved. At least one person bought a part from him in person...or says they did.

rx7roller02 01-14-08 07:22 PM

that would be your best bet, really, paypal also has the habit of not helping you very much if you didnt buy the item through ebay.

I also have more info than what you've found. Seems he was selling more things on nopistons.com, more recently than what you've found:

in 2005, he tried to sell a T78 turbo setup, no one else posted in the thread.

Then there is the one you found, from 2006, with the boost controller.

And one in August, 2007, with some replies:

http://www.nopistons.com/forums/inde...ts@hotmail.com

9 replies, but no one saying anything about actually buying any parts....I posted over there to ask if any of those members bought anything and what the end result was. I also linked this thread over there so hopefully someone has some info for you.

I can tell you this much--grand larceny is what you're aiming for. Anything less and the police probably wont be too interested in spending time on it. But there is a pretty easy way to make this happen--so far we know of two people who got ripped off by this guy, and you spent $125 plus shipping, is this correct? The other guy, FS_WTB, bought a clutch, and the price of that was $300 plus shipping to Canada. So, he spent some good money for shipping from CA to Toronto. Between the two of you, he took more than $400. It can easily be combined into one complaint because he sold parts to the two of you from the same for sale ad. I have done this before in Florida, and that scammer was subsequently charged with grand larceny(over $7,000) and 66 counts of attempting to defraud.

I would recommend you contact FS_WTB on this one. If you are interested, I will get you guys a # to call where you can file a complaint. That way, I can have you speak with the same cop and this can be put in as a grand larceny complaint. Just let me know...

Thanks for your help Jon. FS_WTB and I have swapped a few PMs and I'm waiting to hear back from him. I was thinking the same thing about coordinating our complaints to the police in Sleeperrx7's area. I would be interested in the number you have, that would be helpful. I've dug up some personal info on Sleeperrx7 and I'll PM you about that.

I've been keeping tabs in FS_WTB's bad guy thread. I haven't spoken with him about how much he lost, but the guy got me for $140 total.

Thanks again for your help and you've got a PM

JustJeff 01-15-08 01:30 AM

Simply bumping this to the top so that both threads about Sleeperrx7 stay more closely related

rx7roller02 01-15-08 05:35 AM

Can you please post some more details? Like how much was the total that you sent to him? Thanks

FS_WTB 01-15-08 07:45 AM

$310 Usd

rx7roller02 01-15-08 10:22 AM

between the 2 of you guys, you have enough for a grand larceny complaint. PM me if interested in proceeding--at this point it is probably about the only real option that could get you results, unfortunately. Let me know...

Jon

JustJeff 01-15-08 12:47 PM

Would it be possible for RX7doctor to combine my thread and FS_WTBs. It would be alot easier to coordinate. I'll post the same request in the other thread and send RX7doctor a PM.

JustJeff 01-15-08 12:49 PM

I posted this same request in my thread about Sleeperrx7, but can RX7doctor merge the 2 seperate threads into one. It would make coordinating all this easier...and more coherent for the community to keep up on the progress. I tossed RX7doc a PM about it.

JustJeff 01-15-08 11:01 PM

thanks Doc

JustJeff 01-18-08 12:54 AM

Any news on that number, I'd like to move forward with it ASAP

SleeperRX7 ripoff

Add me to the list of peeps he has ripped off. Back in late Nov., I bought a set of JDM FTP's ... paypal confirmed payment on Dec 13th of $90. He said in his last response of the 13th that he would ship the next day. I have still yet to receive. I have sent several PM's and have even sent an e-mail to his hotmail account. I have yet to file a paypal claim ... but look to do so in the next few days. I don't feel like I will get anywhere, but at least I will try.

rx7roller02 01-19-08 11:50 AM

ok, here is what we need to do. Each of you that lost money to this guy, you need to get a file together. You need to put in that file all paperwork you have---payment receipts and so on. You also will want to print out any emails you have sent and received--but you need to print them with the full header displayed. If you are not sure how to do this, just let me know and I will tell you how, it is really simple. When you have all of this, let me know. We will need this info when complaints are filed so that we can show enough cause for the police to check it out.

When you guys have this stuff together, let me know. We will present the complaints to the same person so that they dont get separated and lost in the shuffle. That way, they will be far more inclined to act because they will see that this guy is a repeat thief.

JustJeff 01-19-08 11:52 AM

Thanks for adding yourself to the list. I'm waiting to hear back from RX7Roller02 on the number to call.

I'll toss you a PM

Edit: Didn't see Roller's response........

Sounds like all the hard copies should be held by one person. I don't mind being that person and will PM both totpkg, and FS_WTB with my mailing addy.

rx7roller02 01-19-08 01:28 PM

if you guys like you can fax them to me or mail them to Jeff. But please--let's get on this. It is obvious by now that he will just keep on scamming people, and we can knock that shit off quick, fast, and in a hurry. Please dont drop the ball on this guy. Thanks

Anyone wanting to fax them to me can PM me for the #. We just need to get these things together. You should include your contact info in the file you put together, for the police to keep up with you guys.
