Thats its main attraction, simplicity, it may not be fully optioned with adjustable this and that nor will it extend your fuel system capacity like methanol can but it has its own virtues.

I am happy to spell these out here or in another thread if people want to hear about it in greater detail?

The biggest thing though I like is it works out of the box with basicaly no tuning required, and i think that is what appeals to lots of people highest out of the positive aspects. The one negative is the initial investment in the components.

Basically no tuning required -- so you're implying here that, say for the sake of argument, once I've got my car sorted for 100% fuel, then all I had to do is add water to the charge to run up to a theoretically limitless boost? But wait a sec, Peter -- a few months ago you'd claimed running as much as a 50/50 ratio. What gives?

To give you a little education though, Dyno Dynamics read a lot lower than the inertia type exagerators you use ;) you can do your own research on that one mate.

Unlike others I dont require any luck neither do my fellow enthusiasts who follow a proven path like water injection ;)

Now seeing that you again have prooved you have nothing to add except hatred (comenting on a dyno system you know nothing about !) you can please refrain form posting in anything to do with this untill you learn some fundamentals maybe?. I have derived much pleasure in shuting your mouth firmly on your stupid points regarding water inejction. I will take many more contiuning to make you look very average ;)

cheers.

Just giving you the correct math to debunk your over-liberal power figure. Call me whatever you'd like; as long as you resort to any and all attempts to make fun of me or knock me into the ground, it shows that you don't have the truth to lean on. Stop trying to manipulate or otherwise control what I think and say. That doesn't work on me, Peter (I've been talked to much worse). And, unlike your two dyno sheets that already have questionable figures at best, atleast I can post data that overwhelmingly corroborates what I claim.

please, all let's return to civility.

remember the enemy is Pistons not water V alcohol.

i will bet by year end we will all be astonished how much power we made w little detonation using water and/or alcohol.

Amen, Howard! I can't wait to show some big V8 boys what's up. :)

Redynoed Rx2 tonight, did 578rwhp on pump and WI

stats 21psi mid range 18psi at peak power, still could not get boost controller to work right. hope to have new dyno sheet up in next few days.

few tech stats form last run:
put CDI coils onto leading LX92's others were stuffed
made a plug heat range adjustment down to B10EGV L and B105EGV T, have a dyno day in a couple of months where customer will address boost bleed off situation and maybe do a bit more.

happy birthday to me (today) nice way to celebrate :)

Howard Coleman 04-23-07 06:32 AM

congratulations. that is a major accomplishment on pump. do you have egt #s? we would love to know all the details.

and happy birthday:)

hc

RICE RACING 04-23-07 06:49 AM

thankyou howard :)

nah no egt's Jake asked me to put in a bung in his manifold when he had engine out for the thrid time to fix it after soem bad machine work performed by a "specialist here". i told him he would not need to monitor that aspect with the WI.

As a sign of that after the two pulls on the dyno the turbine housing was not glowing at all, nor the down pipe, could not see the manifold as it is heat wraped.

The plug range needed to be stepped down as the engine just runs too cold at full power, leading plug bodies dont build up enough temperature to totaly get rid of deposits and I went down 0.5 in heat range (on leading that runs cooler) and its better than what it was (both heat ranges fired, but its better with the hotter plug) timing is very conservative and also AFR was set for correct dyno operation at 11.20:1 from 5k to 8.5 krpm.

There was a twin turbo V8 on there before us running twin GT35R's at 17psi and he made 447rwkw through an auto v's our 431.1kw @ 18psi on manual transmission on this same dyno a RX8 (with full bolt on upgrades) does 125rwkw to give you perspective of it all, not too bad for a 2.6lt rotary V's a 5lt big dollar V8 :)

Howard Coleman 04-23-07 07:01 AM

i love it.... 158 cu inch rotary V a 305 V8.

the rotary short block is 13" X 13" X13"

and of course there is nothing like RPM and the sound.

very addictive.

who has the legitimate record for HP and TQ on pump and AI if you know/

hc

RICE RACING 04-23-07 07:13 AM

Yeah on topic of noise another point users may be interested in, jake fitted an extra SMB resonator to acompany the SMB rear muffler to make it more "normal".

Exhaust is full 3.5" with one resonator and muffler and is very nice and refined now, you dont get a headache when cruising in this car now :) Its realy fantastic I must say, on road it holds 20 psi to 8.5k rpm and i feel its 600rwhp as I told you in e-mail our 160mph 9" tired drag cars here run 650rwhp to give you all some feeling for how radical this car is and what its doing. the real stupid thing is there is more left in it as we have run out of fuel injector to run fulll boost and power.

To say i am happy is a small understatement :)

mufti do you offer a wi kit for the fd?

Hey Peter,

Are we going to get to see the video from the night run on that closed highway? ;)

Although the numbers are often moot, theres some guessing one can do.

5 minutes on google tells me a

Stock Holden VY SS crewman makes 225kw@engine >> 178kw@wheels on DD in shootout
Stock Holden SS Commonwhore makes 220kw@engine >> 167wk@wheels in DD shootout

Roughly 20-24% loss with autotrans

So 430kw odd x 22% (rough mean) =...... kw
......kw x 1.34 = ....... hp

Suffice to say, when i hear a dyno figure anywhere, i figures it could be +/- 25% :|

No_Rotor_RX7 04-25-07 06:20 AM

i really would love to see some video :D

RICE RACING 04-25-07 06:44 AM

canberra tech guru needed

I am a technology immbocile, I have the footage on my camera but need some tech guru with some type of firewire?? connection and a PC that is not 10 years old like the one I am using now so we can share it with the world at large :)

Jakes thing is in the process of getting some new fuel pumps so I can screw some more boost into it and get it into the 600 club?, we are getting a bit carried away. Expect another update shortly, then we have to put it away so the competition does not know too much of what we are going to unleash upon them ;).

RICE RACING 04-25-07 06:49 AM

Hopefully the Red Dragon wont be too far away, another to add to the list shortly. Just have to figure out how much power I want to have. On the dyno figure of Jake, he has a manual gearbox now no longer automatic, my estimate is 700~715bhp @ engine as is now.... I try to be conservative with this stuff. IMHO it was unusable before anything extra now is only suitable for a racing car. We had to do the video rolling on throttle in 3rd and 16psi in mid range revs (creeping up to 18 at 8500rpm *lol opposite to dyno behaviour!*) simply to get some good acceleration.

My BLITZ SBC I-color and traction control will help no end + the refinement of the FD's chassis v's an early mazda shoe box lol :)

rkaid 04-26-07 08:11 AM

No worries, I happen to be a quasi geek :icon_tup: If you have the firewire cables that came with teh camera, i could xfer to my pc / laptop.

Fuel delivery indeed, there seems to be a deal of refinement left with ignition and boost control.

Just the concept of the Dragon with that much power and a proper AM traction system gives me goosebumps. Proper 90's wheelbase length, IRS and weight distribution :pokeowned Its hard to think of a more potent track machine!! Ok, ok enough :bj:

Would be interesting how you find the i-Colour, i grabbed a SBC i-DIII for the R last year, and keen to set it up.

Good Luck!!

I have a cable ;) PM me when you would like to do this & the boys here can have some entertainment. Also have tom's car on video too (other water inejcted beast).
