ATTENTION Autronic SM2 update!!!

For those who use the Autronic ECU or are interested, here's an important update from Ray Hall:

Autotune Rotary chip.

"This chip will be released in about one week. The designation will be a SM2 1.99.

A new version of the software will be released to include this chip. Full details on this chip will be posted here soon.

Besides being a Autotune chip for Rotary engines, this chip should be very popular as it has multi and missing tooth support and Autotune, which is something piston engine customers have wanted also."

Ditto-- I'd like to see enough info here that you guys get your own subsection. I tried to join Autronic's forum to do some background reading, but they won't let you join unless you're an owner...

Yeah, thats pretty gay, I know its a good system, but it would be nice to see support/common problems before buying it....They should really change that if they want to go mainstream on the ecu market...Max

it's kinda good and bad. the forum is there for tech support, there is a lot of experinced users in there and it would be a shame to ruin that.

By "ruin that" I assume that you mean you don't want the board flooded with useless newbie questions. I would prefer the same thing, however, I didn't want to join to post questions. I just wanted to read about the issues that experienced users encounter. That way, I could hopefully make a better informed decision when the time comes for a replacement EMS. Hell, I would be happy to have some type of restricted ID that doesn't allow posting unless you are an Autronic owner. It seems to me that would keep the crap off the board, while allowing interested potential buyers to do some research. (I wish we had some type of tiered system on this board, but that's a different subject...)

^^ I would love to look over an Autronic forum as well. I wouldn't want to throw my money out to buy something without knowing the quality and the quantity of the support I would get. Perhaps one of you Autronic users would be able to help us out by suggesting they let people read along...?

i have pointed this out before to them. i guess they feel information on the forum could be misinterpreted or give a bad impression when the forum is designed to help users with there problems.

if you want users prospective on the autronic you will find there is a lot of approval on this forum and others. rotors being a little new too the autronic community , i found all the help and info i needed from forum memebers on here who were some of the 1st to use the autronic on the rotor

Not that I know of at this point. From what I hear they are going to be released in limited quantities at first. Remember, there will be new software to compliment this chipset. Waiting patiently.

I should let me car alone anyways. It runs great now.

Agreed. And back to the Autronic Forum thing.

They are trying to keep it strictly technical. They do not want questions like. "Check out my cool neon lights and clear plastic cover I put on my SM2", or " I dropped my ECU off a 5 story building do you think it is broke"

Understood, but that's not me. Actually, if they allowed interested buyers to browse without the ability to post, I'd be satisfied.

I agree 100%. Just like this Forum, you cannot post unless you log in.

You could email Autronic and request this maybe??

From the Autronic Forum, Ray Hall:

These will be available in a week, it may take a little longer for some dealers to have them in stock.

The chip is version 1.99 as mentioned before.

Since we can adjust it on the Autronic, has anyone messed with the injector end angle and found an optimal setting?

Zach use the settings i gave you. They work very well. i spent a lot of time mapping my car. As soon as i get the FD running i'll be spending quite a bit of time on the dyno with it. I will keep you up to date.
