93 rx7 sm4 fault code question

I have a 93 rx7 with a sm4 and a 500r cdi box with autronic harness and bosch coils. I am currently getting so spark to the trailing plugs. I have checked the following :

-coil = good
-plug wire = good just replaced
-harness = good haven't checked resistance
-both units = good have power
- crank sensors = good ohmd 1.1k each

Re read and a few drag notes

-car starts
-get a rpm signal when starting the car or running through the autronic software and tach works

here is the problem. I am getting no fire on the trailing plugs and i am getting a fault in the autronic 33 (crank position or cylinder position signal fault) The car will start ( as trailing plugs do lesser of the work) . But i still want all of this sorted. I am looking for a little insight into what the ecu does and needs to see to set this fault. I am trying to narrow down where the problem is.

I can explain it much better talking lol.... but I want to figure this thing out. Anyone on here state side that uses the autronic a lot that doesn't mind a conversation? lol.

Error 33 = Crankshaft Position Error -

Have you scoped the crankshaft sensor ? Either through the Autronic software (Firmware pending) or on the pin connection to the Ecu ?

I figured that out this weekend. Had a bad solder joint at the pin in the connector for the sensor. That's sorted but I am still not getting spark on the trailing plugs and trying to see if the ecu is set up for them or there are other problems. (I am very new to the ecu)

Car is set up with 4 coils and the 500r

Is this a new setup or a previously running engine/setup that now displays the error.

Do you have a laptop connected to the Ecu ?

If so - it will tell you the firmware version in the top left of the screen (when connected to the Ecu)

If it is version 1.09 or newer -

Can you do a Cyl/Sync/HSI Scope log with the engine idling and upload it?

Go to menu M0 - Cyl/Sync/HSI Scope with the engine idling for about 10 seconds, then press the Esc or Q key.
This will make the software draw the scope traces.
To save the scope log go to menu Edit-Window and select Save Logged File (near the bottom of the list) and Enter.
When the file list appears press the Ctrl key and select Create New File and Enter.
Then key a new name for the scope and Enter.
Accept the Dialog to create the new file.
You then get a blank line to add a Comment.
Press Enter even if you do not add a comment.

The file will be stored in C:/Autronic/MAPS folder.

You should also be able to scope or log the ignition outputs as well - meaning you can see when everything is firing or not !

See attached screen shot as an example of what you should see (Please Note: Attached picture is not from a rotary engine)

It is set up on 1.07

This was a previously set up car that I purchased. Like I said I got the fault figured out with the bad solder joint in the harness for the earth side of the crank sensor. I did also find a few things in the advanced menu for ignition that I have a few questions about. I cant host a photo on here at the moment as I am on my phone... but IF you are cool with text and willing to help ( I am trying to learn this ecu to allow the car to make it to the dragon for the rotary rally lol) I would greatly appreciate it. my number is 850 319 8677

But other then that at the bottom of the advanced menu it says the angles after indexing should always be increasing. Well mine are set up as follows.

1. 0
2. 100
3. 190
4. 10

Which I assume is wrong. But the car runs.... just getting no spark pn the trailing coils. I am curious if that would allow the ecu to not fire them or what.... At a bit of a loss at this point not knowing how these ecus work.

I am just not sure if the car was set up not to run trailing coils/ plugs

I've replied to your other thread, ping me directly if you're still struggling.

Oh, and if you could post or mail me your map and car config (year, trigger setup, etc) that'd be great, I may have a base map you can use or be able to whip one up quickly.
