Help piece my E85 setup together

MODS: 13B-REW, Large Streetport, GT42R, , 2 x injectors primary, and 4 x injectors secondary. I'll be switching the lines to 'Kevlar Enforced Aeroquip Startlite Hose.'

My goals are around 550rwhp.

What size injectors should I be running? Recommend a good brand?
What's a good ignition to run for a street car that won't break the bank? ($500-$800 max)
Will my Innovative LC-1 wideband be efficient for tuning on E85?

http://injectordynamics.com/ Use their 1000's for all six with an elevated base pressure ~60-70psi

an ignition box on the leading and 9's

Yes.

Are all you E-85 guys running A base fuel pressure of 60+ PSI?

killahrx7 06-22-09 08:08 AM

i am

^^

Oh Nice.

What is the benefit to this higher base pressure? I am running E-85...I have 720cc primaries....1680cc secondaries and 1000cc aux. The engine is a Renesis. I currently run about 45psi....hit 500whp with 18psi.

Let me know.

Thanks.

ProjectD 06-22-09 10:02 AM

What size primaries are you guys running those high base pressure on?

moremazda 06-22-09 04:37 PM

I am running 1600's primaries with 50psi base pressure, mainly to help out atomization. BUT I am seriously considering swapping out all six for the Paul Yaw 1000's and then running those at 90-100psi base.

ProjectD 06-23-09 07:27 AM

Interesting....how does yourcar run at a lower base pressure like say 40psi? I sill havent got mine to idle right but I havent tried increasing fuel pressure past 45psi I think I'll give it a try today.

moremazda 06-23-09 02:20 PM

Increasing from 42psi to 50psi allowed for a better quality idle with lower pulse width. That was the most tangible change. But I have been told (and believe from what I have seen) that the 1600's do not atomize very well under ~45psi.

What about idle/start up if I might have to run 91 octane sometimes? Should I run smaller primaries?

I'll have to try that out. What openings are you at now with 50 psi at idle.

I'm in the 1.7 range which is the down side to the high pressure because that is approaching the crap flow area of the injectors, but I get an okay idle in the upper 12's. But I am also running a check valve so that I get 50psi through out the vacuum range. I am thinking about ditching the check valve to see how it does.

Anyone help me out with my last question????

What kind of injectors for running both E85 and 91 octane, so that idle isn't terrible...since it will be a street car. Same 1600s all around?

killahrx7 06-30-09 11:25 PM

yeah i use 1600 all around. if you're gonna be running different fuels i'm assuming you know you're gonna have to have two different maps/tune. the injectors will work for both fuels though.
