For those who like me up until yesterday have not seen the ignition switch. My Haynes manual did not show it and i went in basically blind to replace it.

This is the switch, installed under the column.

This is the defective switch, removed. The notch in the middle is supposed to be turned by the lock assembly. Mine, if you look closely, has a crack and the notch is now basically a half moon shape. That's why my car was not always starting.

This little switch bolted on to the back of the ignition assembly. The little spring operated nub fits into a little hole. I broke mine removing it (as you can see) and had to use electrical tape to hold the new one in place. Can anyone tell me what this switch does? The car starts with or without it in place, and whether the button is depressed or not.
