Looking for some input on a Single Turbo FD Series 2 cal
Anyone still around this section? A friend and I have been working on a safe base map for my FD now that the engine has been broken in. Just looking for something to have a bit of fun with until this winter and can send the car back to IRP for the full power tune. Plus, a good solid base map would be preferred when I send it back to them, maximizing the time they can spend on fine tuning the cal.
Specifics:
IRP Medium Street Port (their stage 2)
IRP BW 8474 turbo kit
ID1000 primary ID2000 secondary
AEM wideband failsafe (no failsafes in place yet, but it is connected to the ECU)
SBG Smart Coil kit
93 pump for now, FlexFuel capable
EBTurbo set the ECU up for WB Failsafe, flex fuel, boost trim switch, smart coils, etc. He provided a startup tune, and IRP did a bit of adjustments to that original tune during the engine build (direction of the build changed a bit after the ecu was received from Cody).
Still very much in the preliminary stages of the tune. Just on wastegate pressure, O2 feedback off, super conservative timing, etc. I'm not really looking to get into timing or boost control just yet, I'd prefer to have IRP do all that when they get the car back. Again, just looking to enjoy the car for a few weeks until winter hits. I have done a few logs and some adjustments to this point. I'm also attaching my latest log from last night. I have not made adjustments to the map based on this log yet.
This is my first time dipping my toe into tuning, and my friend has been doing a great job getting me up to speed on how this process works. The car was surprisingly pretty good to drive even on the startup tune, but was very lean. We overcompensated on the rich side on the fuel table after the break in was complete, and are now slowly dialing things back up to around 9 PSI (you'll notice fuel settings are still quite high above 10 PSI, cause we haven't hit those pressures yet). There are definitely a few spots I saw last night that still need finetuned (some rich, some a bit lean), but overall, the car seems to be stable and safe (fuel wise), I just want to make sure these assumptions are correct. I'm not really a fan of how the 3D fuel map looks, but again, it seems to be serving it's purpose.
