Aem F/IC 6

It's recently bought it going to be running my 6port turbo on it, just wondering if anyone else has ran it before if so how did it turn out, running this over my Safc2 due to ignition retarding for boost!

AEM F/IC Fuel / Ignition Controller - ECU Piggyback - Wideband O2 UEGO, Water/Methanol, Stand Alone Engine Management, Piggyback F/IC, Tru Boost Controller, Gauges, Automotive Performance Electronics

heres a link anyone? or am i gunna be a guinea pig!

Not sure if it'll work. I've only read ppl were able to use it on our cars to control fuel, not so much ignition. Main reason is because of the weird set up we have on the trailing ignition coils.

is this on a S4 or S5 ? also , no need for SAFC if you have this.

will you be running the T2 ecu as base or the NA ecu .

Got rid of the safc for this , it's s4 and s4 n/a ecu as base.

I've heard the s4 t2 ecu runs stupid timing so Easier I hope with the n/a

Ive used the F IC with other cars, dont remember it having trailing split control.

in that case, you are better swapping a T2 ecu as it will have boost split vs the non turbo ecus.

some items that might be worth upgrading to run without issues.

air temperature sensor
coolant sensor
I like it has a built in map sensor you can use to by pass the MAF .

Can I run t2 ecu n/a harness or no?

The harness pin out is the same, the 86-88 turbo and non turbo both have a 52 pin nippon denso style plug.

( this is all off memory , I havent touched an na in a few years ) .

One thing I remember with the AEM IC is that you need to get the stock ecu working quite well , to then piggy back onto it.

all that work, and it might be easier runnign a full AEM EMS. you can get them for cheap and are leagues ahead of the piggy back system .

I know your on a budget but I would go this route with a 13b:

old ems withing your budget ( $ 400-700 )( make sure you get everything needed as getting parts adds up quick ) . ( any old full ems will work great )

Mega squirt full enabled V3 board ( aprox $ 800-900 depending on options ) . ( again get all parts needed at moment of shipping ) .

Vipec / link / haltech / adaptronic / AEM ( in the $ 1300 - $ 1600 range )

( note all prices are in canadian dollar, once shipping/ customs/ exchange rate is put in place , then taxes if new)

but if you are set on the FIC , go for it , im sure it will work well, just lots of trouble shooting.

I got it for a steal, and wouldnt mind giving it a try for this summer and lay down some notes for others if they wish to use it as well, next year when i do motor rebuild and bigger turbo i will go standalone i figure so it gives me 12 ish months of saving some money for a solid Standalone! but thanks! ill give it a try no matter what, i do have both n/a and turbo ecu so this should be interesting!

sounds good, if you get it to work right you can probably stay with it for a while.

We ran a turbo sentra and celica with it, and worked great.

Did you install the aem f/ic 6? If so how did you wired the CAS? CAS has 2 trigger wheel just wondering how it is wired.

What car are you putting this in? If you let me know I can give you the pins you need to tap to install the crank tap only.

it worked after he swapped it for another ECU .

I believe he is now running a megasquirt .
