Power FC Finally off my lazy butt: PFC Install How-to.

While I certainly say that clipping (or bending or whatever) the pins on the PFC itself is one way to do it, the commonly held theories on why NOT to do that is that 1) if you screw it up, you need to buy a new PFC, and 2) wires can be spliced back in the event that something like that is necessary. I've re-spliced, and while it's a pain, I found that the Molex plug suggestion that I put forth earlier is actually a good way to avoid having to do that, and at the same time helps prevent any mistakes that could be costly.
To each his own, of course.

the four wires that are disconected belong to: egr switch(16 pin, blue/green), aws valve(26 pin, brown/yellow), egr valve(26 pin, blue/yellow), split air bypass valve(26 pin, black/red)

I'm in Europe and have a bone stock FD with HKS filter.
HKS downpipe in the pieline (waiting for the PFC to come in->fear of boost issues)
and catback as a next mod.
I've been told clipping wires is not necessary for Euro cars.
Remark: My A/c is working, though not filled, nor using it.
Should I just clip the wires, put connectors on, replug and unpleg them as mods are coming on?
thx

I just talked to rx7store and they said that the only that happens if you don't disconnect the wires is that the check engine light comes on and stays on. That's it.

so just to be clear because i get confused, do u NEED the commander because everywhere seems to sell em together, yet some people make it sound like its just an easier way to do it...and it seems u do because my next question is, is the commander the only way to program it? like if you want to use a map someone made for example u have to copy it yourself onto your commander, it doesnt like hook to a computer or anything?
sorry if this sounds dumb im just trying to learn how this thing works so i can be sure i would be able to use the damn thing. thanks
