Y-pipe coupler problem HELP!

The other day I ran the fd on WOT, and I heard a loud ziiiiiiip sound. Now I have no boost, past 3500 rpm I hear a loud whistling sound, ( which I suppose is the turbo whining). After searching I suspect it's the ypipe coupler. I took everything apart and loosened the two clamps on the coupler, and now I can't get the damn thing off. I've pulled and twisted as hard as I can . Has anyone else had this problem? And what else do you think is possibly wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Up front I should say I have no experience with this problem exactly. But I do have much experiece with things that will just not come apart!

I have a y pipe with a coupler in my garage, and they come apart and back together again no problem.

I would say get some Tri-Flow lubricant, and soak it where they slide together. Pull hard and work it loose. Just be sure theyre stuck because of a tight fit and not because one part is pushing into something else.

Sounds like it's time for an Efini y-pipe. Can you tell if the coupler is shot? If so, just slice it with a razor blade, as you'll need to replace it anyway.

Ok, I checked the IC hoses and they look fine. Right now I'm counting on the y-pipe coupler being cracked. The air pump is getting in my way so I've been trying to remove it. Where in the world are the adjusters to loosen the alternator/water pump/ air pump pulley? I think I'm gonna go with the efini y pipe and toss the air pump. PLEASE HELP

Easy there desperado.

The adjuster is just under the airpump. First loosen the alternator, drop the belt than start working on your airpump. With 12mm and 14mm sockets and an extension you are pretty well set as well as the 10mm which we all carry around in our pockets.

I removed the air pump and y-pipe and finally got the stupid coupling off. I found a 3/4 inch crack under the bottom clamp, but I think I made it myself by squeezing the thing. Is it possible that it's the turbo control actuator making the problem? How can I tell if it is? I just want to make sure I fixed the leak before I put everything back together.
