Xcessive Motor Mounts

Anybody try these out yet? I'm thinking about the softer version (65A). I bought the Himni Racing Mounts and they are painfully bad from a vibration standpoint. My stock Driver mount is broken and a new factory mount with a Garfinkle brace add up to almost $400.

Looks like a good piece. Can't wait to see the reviews.

I have a set similar to the link you posted. Maybe I'm getting old but the vibration was way too much.

Looks like a good design but you'll probably get a lot of vibration. I don't know if the Noltec mounts are still easily available but I installed them several years ago and I've been very happy with the level of vibration. I would recommend avoiding any "puck with thru-bolt"-type mount for a street car (the xcessive isn't one of them, it's just stiff because of the small amount of rubber).

I've got the banzai ones and even for the initial break in period where they are fully compressed the vibration is barely noticeable, and then only from a dead stop in 1st.

If you have lots of vibration with these motor mounts, it ain't the mounts causing the problem.

It is the mounts causing the vibration as that was the only change made to the car. I don't have Banzai mounts so I cant comment on them but the ones I received from Himni increased vibration enough to annoy me, alot.
I ordered a set of Xcessive yesterday after talking to them directly. My only concern is the lack of rubber available in the design as stated by Max earlier. I orrdered the softer version so we'll see.

+1, love mine. Restricts engine movement without an ETB but with no increase in NVH over stock. Unfortunately I'm not (currently) seeing a source for Noltecs here in the States.

That design linked to above is a little more complicated... but promising.

Mounts arrived today and I installed them this evening. First impression is they are less annoying than the Himni mounts. The xcessive mounts also have less vibration than one stock mount and one Himni mount which is what I resorted to in order to drive the car without getting pissed off. Install was a bit of a pain since your putting a square peg in a round hole, literally. Overall I'm pleased with them and the only real issue is a resonance between 1000 and 1500 RPM when pulling away from a stop. Other than that they dampen similar to stock but remove alot of slop from the drivetrain. Shifting is much improved and the car responds quicker on direction changes.

My name is D.Cobb and I approve these mounts!

Assuming you went with the standard 80A durometer? Sounds like you can retrofit the softer 65A and try them if you ever feel the need.

I bought the 65A mounts. 80A would be too stiff IMO.

My experience is that once you put in "hard" engine mounts it is only a matter of time till you will blow out a diff mount.... Assuming some hard launches.
Once one of the diff mounts loose their fluid (likely the passenger side) you will get some vibration...

When you installed the xcessive motor mounts did your motor sit higher? I have a strut bar and just installed the motor mounts on my fd and now the motor sits higher than the strut bar so I can't bolt it. Do any of you happen to have a strut bar along with these motor mounts?

I use them and like them. I have no comparison because my stock mounts were blow when I got the car. But, vibrations are tolerable.
