Would this work?
Whats up everyone, I know a few people do fan mods on the back of their ICs, and I was browsing and came across this ( http://www.electricchargers.com/?gcl...FSE9gQodzF3x-Q ) and was wondering... could you place this on the back of a SMIC, ducted so that no air is released except through the fan after the IC, and maybe even have a pipe that leads to the intake? How hot is the air after it flows through the IC fins? I know it's probably a stupid idea, but I'm just pondering a few ideas and wondering what other's views on them are. Thanks!

Well my thoughts were that since the SMIC is such a heat sink, maybe if there was a constant flow of air, even when stopped at a light, it might lower intake temps by a few degrees? Just an idea...

Sometimes people do put fans on aftermarket SMICs but I'd imagine you would want a fan closer to the style of the radiator fans. As far as feeding that air into the turbo you'd probably be better off trying to duct fresh air over the heat soak IC air.

Running the post-intercooler air to the air intake is a fundamentally pointless idea. Because now the heat coming off the intercooler goes right back into it again.
As for using this device in particular, I think a ducted fan like you see on the radiator is by far the most practical / economical design.

well the fan in the link I posted appeared to be flexible to some sort of modification... but I definitely don't think a flat fan like the radiator uses will fit...

Although I can say there is a huge difference in intercooling with the stock intercooler when the car is sitting still, such as on a dyno. I can see even a small fan would make a huge difference in intercooling as long as it keeps air moving.
