Wiring HELP: Jacobs ProPak ignition. older version.
OK well a few months back i bought a jacobs propak ignition amp with a FC leading coil to handle the voltage. It is a blue box if that helps any. Here are the following wires:
Red----Power obvious Black---Ground obviously. Thats all i have right now :( Know, there are 4 more additional wires that come oout of the box into 2 seperate 2-wire connectors. One connect has a Black and a Red wire and the other connector has a White and a Green wire. I got instructions from a forum member a while back and now i cant find them> :( Help would be much appreciated. |
I haven't wired one...but maybe this will ring a bell :dunno:
one plug is going to be for the coil pack...my guess B/R connector...the other is for the ignitor signal; W/G basically what needs happen...when the ignition is on, the Jacobs needs a "remote" turn on 12V signal. Then when the ECU sends a lead ignition signal...the jacobs needs a GND...then it will fire the B/R connector on the coil. my guess is G is remote and W goes to the ignitor http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...p/0141614e.jpg hopefully someone who has wired one can chime in |

Damn dude, after I took the time to fax that crap to you (twice) you lost it? Plus, now I'm only 'a forum member' :(:(:(?
white wire----->goes to black/red on fc coil black wire------>goes to yellow/blue on fc coil red wire-------->goes to black/red on oem ignition harness green wire----->goes to yellow/blue on oem ignition harness being the sharp intelligent lad that you are, you correctly surmised that the heavy black wire is the ground and the heavy red wire is the power :D |
Yeah i know, sorry rich :(. I spent the entire day looking for it on my desk and i swear i had it somewhere but obviously someone hated on it. lol. Anyways the 2 wires on my FC coil are white/black :( not the above colors you mentioned.

The FC coil has dual posts with 6mm nuts. I cut and spliced the two wires---their polarity is irrelevant, so you don't have to worry about mixing them up

Damn Carson, that is one *old* post you must have found......

nice so it doesnt matter how the coil is hooked up? I love you guys :)
