Windshield wiper problem
Just curious if anyone else has encountered the problem of having the wipers parking themselves about halfway up the winshield instead of at the bottom when you turn them off. I'm thinking I need a new wiper motor but I figured I'd ask to see if anyone ecountered this problem before. Thanks, Jerry

Sorry to waste your time even responding to this since I have never seen this problem, but if this is your only concern right now, you are a very lucky man. Keep up the good work.

Thanks man, Right now everything is cool except I can't really use the wipers since they stay halfway up the windshield when put in the off position. I guess I'll start looking at a new motor.

Maybe the gear is stripped or there is a problem with the wiper assy. under the cowl. Mine went out and the wipers quit working completely. New one from Mazda was only $140ish. Was about a two hr. job to replace.

check the ground on your wiper motor.. and the connector..(could be switch too)...switches on the second gen are known to go..(intermittent goes..one speed only )..sorry can't give you more..(not sure about third gen)..

I need help with this. My wipers haven't parked at the top of the windshield though. My wipers have just stopped moving all together. I thought it was my wiper motor, so I changed that today...still nothing. I know its not the intermitent switch because thats still firmly connected. This problem started when I took out my guage cluster to recalibrate my fuel needle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not to keen on electrical circuits...I need laymans terms when it comes to describing anything electrical in the car. Thanks in advance.

Anybody?

check the ground on the wiper motor. Pretty sure thats your problem.

The clocking seems to have changed on mine. The drivers side does not sweep all the way to the left, and it parks too far down along the hood. I found I cannot open the hood without parking the wipers up on the windshield first. Is this just a loose nut? Is it an easy fix?

Sadly,. you probably found taht out the hard way. I never turn my wipers on unless I need them, would suck to find their broken in a storm.

Take the little plug off the lower side of the wiper where it connects at the cowell and take the nut off. Wiggle the windshield wiper to loosen to, pull it off and adj as needed. |

I don't recall the wiper motor having a seperate ground wire from the body harness connector but possible the one on the actual plug isn't grounding but again I think it's likely your column switch. |
Fixed for now, thanks
