Will a Greddy Profec B Spec 2 Boost Control Solenoid work w/Greddy Profec B Spec 1?

Hi,

I just have a quick question if anyone can answer it:

"Will a Greddy Profec B Spec 2 Boost Control Solenoid work with an older model unit i.e. Greddy Profec B Spec 1?"

I don't see why not, but I'd like to confirm.

TIA,

Rizwan

The replacement solenoid listed on the Greddy site is : for Profec E-01, B spec II, Type S.

Doesn't say really, I would call Greddy up and ask em.

bump! i just called greddy and the guy i spoke with said i can use the solenoid from the profec spec 2 for the profec 1.

i was a bit skeptical so i search the internet and im coming up with unanswered threads and the only other one i found was on a dsm forum and didnt work.. looking for confirmation:scratch:

What exactly do you mean by the Spec 1? If it is the old Profec with the stepper motor then it will NOT work.

by spec 1 i was refering to the original one.. with the big box solenoid.... is there any alternative option or is this boost controller now deemed unusable?

I don't see how the old stepper motor version could work with the new solenoid myself....I'm sure someone such as Arghx will have the definitive answer.

You can't use a solenoid on a stepper type ebc to my knowledge

so is there any use for it? i guess i should just throw it away?

What, a Profec Spec II solenoid? Sell it. It works on most major Japanese aftermarket electronic boost controllers. Profec S, Profec Spec II, E-01, AVC-R, and EVC-S all use the same Denso solenoid. It's also compatible with the MAC/AEM/Haltech solenoid. The Blitz controllers are a little different and it's not going to be compatible.

Now, the stepper motor on your old Profec might be relatively useless. It might work on an old HKS EVC (stepper type) but that's only a guess.
