I recently put a rebuilt ported 13b in my 94 fd. Ever since i have had it back it has been blowing tons of black smoke and wont idle at all, not to mention i only get 70 miles to a TANK?!? i need some serious help is it fuel pump, filter, needs to be programed?? Any help is good help thanx

Gamezilla 10-24-05 04:51 PM

TpCpLaYa 10-24-05 04:53 PM

well i wanted to see if anyone had a problem like this before i go and spend w/e on a programer and i dont wanna lean it out and starve it for gas or sumthin stupid like that

quicksilver_rx7 10-24-05 05:03 PM

What PCM are you using?

everything on the car is stock but the stage 1 port and hks intake.

quicksilver_rx7 10-24-05 05:25 PM

Typically a "stage 1" port will not cause the symptons that you are describing.

It could be as simple as the connection to the map sensor, or a bad one at that. Is the Check Engine Light on? If so, you need to find out what's causing it, and that could possibly solve your problem.

Forget about the tuning advice for now. That's not going to be an issue with your current setup.

Wouldnt porting cause a car to run more lean?

Force13B 10-24-05 05:51 PM

A bad 02 sensor would make you run rich but not that rich. Make sure you are not leacking fuel anywhere.

kevinbtz 10-24-05 05:54 PM

presure test your fuel system to make sure there is not a bad injector o-ring or a stuck injector.

saburo 10-24-05 07:36 PM

get a powerFC and a new o2 sensor

bucketfd94 10-25-05 03:47 PM

yeah i got a new o2 sensor and checked out the map sensor too

If it's the stock ECU, have you verified there are no error codes stored in the ECU? Not all codes trip the CEL.

bucketfd94 10-26-05 05:15 PM

bucketfd94 10-26-05 11:42 PM
