Where is the Purge Control Solenoid?
Getting a 40 error code (solenoid -purge control). I think I know what the purge control tank looks like, but Where is it located??
Thanks for any help. |
It's kind of in front of the throttle body -
http://www.turborx7.com/images/Techn...e_diagram2.jpg See the orange line coming from the intake manifold just in front of the throttle body? Follow it back, there's a check valve and then the purge control solenoid. It has a label pointing to it in the picture. Dale |
Thanks, found it.
There is a "catch tank" (black with vac in/vac out) -- which of these pieces is usually the culprit? Looks oily around the catch tank -- I thought that this was for gas tank fumes? Is it something else and does it fail? Thanks |
usually the solenoid itself.
Ray@Malloy has them and they're cheap in the FS section if you're patient. |
That particular solenoid is not known to fail often. It can happen, but typically the metal check valve in that system is the first failure point.
