I like the ideas in here!

For me, a clean FD is:

All 99' Spec, no body mods besides maybe a street diffuser/side steps and/or vented hood!

Slam it!

17" wheels!

Larger wheels look to big on FD's to me, although wide bodies are cool, they just aren't my taste! Same with the plate-less front bumper. Accenting a 99' spec FD and capitalizing on the mazda lines can't go wrong imo!

^ I agree

99 spec makes the car look more modern.

Actually, I do not follow him but I know about it. Major troll move by Mr Dahm, kudos to him as well.

For me the clean aesthetic means that nothing sticks out
or looks out of place too much *to the informed* viewer on the car and that it is- yes, literally clean and relatively undamaged.

To me this has extended to no 99 tails or 99 lips on 93-98 cars without the rest of the 99 exterior pieces, because it just sticks out to me.

However, to me it also means you can have varying degrees of agressiveness if the pieces are tied into a motif/together.

Doesnt have to be alk stock, just has to be "of single piece."

I've always had a real thing for "clean aesthetic" cars. My original FD was a base and I pretty much left the exterior that way, but I wanted to be able to monitor everything and so I had a lot of gauges on the inside and didn't want to do any of the pods or mouse ears and so I readied the dash to house all 9 gauges. On the current car I tried to emphasize the actual original design. So, no wings or spoilers or body kit parts. I did add that different grille, but I think it emphasizes the shape of the actual grille, which really, really gets lost on a black car. And I really like the grille design and I took off all the badging. So, cut me a break! ;) I think there are a lot more "clean"-looking cars these days and I really like the trend! I agree with Blue TII about sort of having some guidance about what kinds of things reflect a clean aesthetic. Like pornography, though, I know it when I see it. :)
