what to replace and test when dressing a motor

Can anyone point me to a thread or write up that has a comprehensive list of parts to replace when dressing a motor.

Obvious things that come to mind are injector seals, rubber fuel lines, rubber water lines, vaccum hoses, PVC etc. I have done extensive work with assembling motors, but never anything that was supposed to run like stock (i.e., smog) which this REW does.

Is there a video like those rebuild videos that covers motor instalation?

What else?

Is there anything that should be tested, such as solenoids and such?

Thanks,,,

A great video I'm using is the Bruce Turrentine rebuild + R&R for the 3rd gen. I highly recommend it. You can find it here:http://www.rotaryaviation.com/overhaul_video.htm

My rebuild thread:https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-292/fd-rebuild-down-under-pics-602080/

I would completely recondition the fuel system. Mazda has a "fuel hose recall kit" which comes with just about everything. Also get new o-rings for the FPR and FPD.

I would also replace the oil injectors and the crush washers. Add in new gaskets for the turbo oil return lines. I would also replace the knock sensor, water pump, t-stat, water and fuel thermosensors.

You should test every solenoid before they go back in. Obviously its not a good idea to install a non-working part. ;)

Thanks for the replies. I am not going to use the OMP (it will be there it just won't be puming any oil).

Basicly I am doing a swap, 13b-rew to fc, and I need to have everything running as stock in the fc to get the swap reffed as emmisions legal here in cali. I have worked out most, maybe all of the wiring issues at this point. Fortunatly the rew engine has virtually everything (such as ign) on the engine harness. with that in mind I can only see this running in this condition for a few hours. I think I will skimp out and use rubber vaccum hose and re use allmost everything that can be, and re do all of the poorly done parts when I wire in my haltech e8.
