So what's the back light colour of your clocks, respectively of all dash lightning? Green or red?

Unfortunately it's pretty easy to change clocks on these cars. Takes you not more than 20 minutes.

But if the condition is really as you described, who cares weather the 25k are true or what year model it is. I think most important is the overall condition. I don't think you have any special model as in 92 there were none. But the differences between the later models rs, type r etc. are really minor so again, who cares....

Speaking of 1992 vehicles, it bothers me somewhat that the actual title of this section of the forum says:

"3rd Generation Specific (1993-2002)"

Surely, if you are going to include the Japanese-only 2002 model in the forum title, WHY do you not include the Japanese-only 1992 models on the other end of the name???

IE "3rd Generation Specific (1992-2002)" because technically the way this part of the forum is named right now, is not correct.

Mods?

Does the title match the car's vin ?

the year was more then likely an issue when importing the car and doing the paperwork .

I dont think we have the JDM vin identification database in the USA , so if you legalize an imported car they will go by what you tell them . and not what the vin says it is . aslong as the vin on the title matches the vin on the car forget about it mattering weather its a 92 or 96 ,

also there should be a manufacturing date somewhere .

Also possibilities that a 92 body got 4series (96) engine transplated into it.
But still doesnt explain why the title is 96 with a 91 vin.

Does your state/country has any law regarding the age of the vehicle being imported?

In HongKong, we can only import any vehicles which is less 8years old and over 20years old. So, 8-19 years old vehicles cannot be normally imported and licensed.

The first FD's were October 1991 models, not 1992.

Title VIN matches Firewall VIN.

Cluster Lights are blue.

You have a RHD FD with questionable heritage and definitely NOT what you thought you bought. It's also contraband in the U.S. for a few more years. And regardless of your title, seizable by the Federal Government as contraband until then. Probably not likely, especially now. But occasionally I think there is an enforcement 'push' and your VIN will glow in the dark.

I'm in the south, not CA.. These rednecks could care less, its just a JAP car. I'm in the National Guard with Highway patrol and they think its neat. I'm not worried about it being seized at all...

Even though its not what you thought it was its still a very nice car!
Look after her and enjoy her.
You have a very clean car, good condition car. That means more to me than either year or mileage :)
