What does this wire do?

I have the carpet out, on the driver side. There are a couple of wires.
One plugs into the seat, the second however disappears onto the floor, near the center console. It is an armored wire (meaning it has a metallic weave around it) Judging from the way it's put in place it's stock, though the wire looks newer than that. I am wondering if anyone has an idea as to what it is, and what it does.
Thanks in advance.

doesn't that wire go into the mid pipe? It's a probe for a thermal sensor I think??....

If it's rhd it's exhaust heat sensor. If you still have the stock cat there should be a sensor in it. If not you can just short it out so you don't have the heat light on all the times.

I actually had to deal with this when I changed my stock cat to a high flow cat. Here are some pics:

Hope this helps.
