the problem isn't that you want to spend the money, in my book.... it's your money.

The problem is that you've still not told us if you're doing the work yourself and what's the car's current condition.

10k and you doing the work w/ an already good car will get a different response than 10k & you not doing the work w/ a STOCK parts rx.

my vote is also going single turbo and going with a water or methanol injection kit.

for methanol kit, i recommend this:

www.alkycontrol.com.

for a turbo, you can always go with the GT35r or try out a billet wheel turbo from Precision or Garrett (who i believe just began releasing billet turbos).

you want reliability and some speed, this is a good route to go. the water or meth kit is essential as it saves rotary lives (and cash outta the wallet for rebuilds).

search "making the case for rotary reliability", and you will come across howard coleman's thread. read it!

a-spec single turbo kit = GT35r/gt3574/etc.. (~2k) http://www.a-spectuning.com/
fuel upgrades = either larger secondaries or a mixed fuel kit (rx7store.net or cjmotorsports) (less than 1k)
Now's a good time to purchase a datalogit. (~400)
aux injection (~500)
AST delete w/ FC filler neck & cap (http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=15-17YA-N326)

that should get you started . . .

My advise to you would be go to the single turbo section and follow some of these guys threads.
read up what they have done and what power levels they are putting out. That way you will have a guide on what road to take... you can`t make lost of power with out knowledge and if you pay some else to do it that 10K will slip by very fast.

don't start spending unless you have a plan...

arghx 04-04-10 10:19 AM

are you building the motor or are you paying someone else?

derrik504 04-04-10 11:16 AM

i am going back and forth with that one i have never taken a rotory apart.but i am very capable.so i just cant make up my mind on that one.

Too often I see broke kids pissing away all their money on a car. Some go into debt so they can have a cool car. Then they loose their job or something happens and they are screwed. Or the credit card balances accumulate for years and the $5k in parts you bought becomes $15k in credit card fees over time.

Sounds like you're a little light on suspension pieces. It doesn't add to power, but a full polybushing kit goes a long way towards making the car more enjoyable.

Rotary Extreme has a nice aluminum driveshaft that wouldn't be bad to pick up while you're at it.

Hey man, what's with all the blue snakes in your engine?

Seriously, is this going to be a street car or for the track? Any other major problems? The motor is going to take a big chunk of your 10k. You should get that done and out of the way. Extra shit always pops up when you start a project with this car. I'd say get the motor working in good order and then see how much money is left after that.

derrik504 04-05-10 12:00 AM

that has been gone.i want it to be both street an strip.

DON'T SPEND IT ON YOUR CAR.

Invest it, or put it down on a cheap house.

I agree!!

There is nothing in this thread that indicates that the OP is fiscally irresponsible or which generation he belongs to. It isn't fair, or relevent to the OP's question, to assume that he has not planned this expense with fiscal integrity. Although I do agree that most of today's youth are half brain dead...

BACK ON TOPIC...

Single turbo, I have a GT3574 on the way :)

AI- straight water injection and a good ignition. You can read posts on the forum and decide if you want pre-turbo or post turbo. I will be going post-turbo.

PFC, and someone with experience to tune it

**REMOVE the OMP and premix 2-cycle oil in the tank

How close to Shreveport are you?

TSXtasy 04-05-10 01:48 AM

Have you thought about having you factory 850's rebuilt and just buying the 1000'a? Redistribute that money to something else.
