Red face Weird Dash Problem

Ok you know guys when you turn the ***** on the heater dash board you can actually hear the motor switching the vents depending on the setting, well this happens when I'm not touching the dash *****... It does it randomly on its own when I drive or stop. So when I'm driving with the heat on all of a sudden cold air starts to come out. I know its not the heatercore problem since its the vents that move on their own as if I'm messing with the *****. Is my 7 fukin with me?

I've heard of the contacts inside the switch itself getting flaky and needing a cleaning. Give yourself a full afternoon to do the job - you need to remove the whole radio/AC panel, which means removing the instrument cluster surround - it's not hard, but it's a lot of stuff to take apart.

Pull the plastic ***** off and make sure that the retaining nut is tightened down and that the switch is orientated properly. There is a notch that has to line up. I had a car acting wierd once with the switches and that is what it was. The car was rattleing the switch around. Since the nut was not tight, the **** stayed where it was and the switch rotated around that. Kinda confusing explanation but hopefully you get what i am saying.
