very weird beeping sound
very weird beeping sound
so yesterday my car started making this weird beeping/ buzzing sound when its on.
when the key is in the on posistion it makes 3 loud beeps pauses for about 2 seconds then 3 more loud beeps and so it.
when the car is started the beep just turns into a continuous sound, no pauses.
i have no clue what it is no warnings or lights up on my dash, the car runs fine it has to be something with the wiring.
i had a small electrical fire on the light switch, but thats fixed and it has nothing to due with the current problem althought i thought it mightve
does anyone have any idea? i thought possibly the it was the coolant buzzer but its not the same sound any help with be great

If the air bag diagnostic module warning bulb/light on the left dash is out and your diagnostic module throws a trouble code...a buzzer will sound. Manual does not say if it is intermittent or constant (or both). Just says you'll get one.
The diagnostic module is located under the dash, right side of steering wheel, usually up on the left tunnel area. Can miss it, 6" X 6" X 2" black box with a big yellow warning sticker on it. Orange and blue connector(s) plugged into it.
See if your air bag dash light comes on with the key on...and/or stick your head down there and see if the buzzing is emanating from there.

To get rid of the blinking airbag light, get one of these..... you need the female connector: https://miataroadster.com/worksbell.html
To defeat that annoying beeping, you either need to replace/reinstall the airbag bulb behind the cluster, or you can unplug the connectors for the airbag ecu. It's located up above the gas pedal near the center tunnel, and is a bit of a pain to get at and work with.
