Vacuum Check Valve Question
I'm speaking of the round one-way check valves near the top vacuum chamber, but I guess all check valves in general. To check to see if they are working properly you should be able to blow in one end but not the other, but how fast should the air flow out of it? Should the valve make a whistling sound? Thanks in advance.

Anyone?

Don,
When are you going to make it over this way again? A good site with great turbo info is Derek's site... http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/rx7stuff.htm Tim |
some have a filter thing and are hard to blow through with your mouth.

as for how fast air traveles through the check valve, I couldn't give you an exact value. BUT what you could do is grab another one like it (there are two kinds: Green/Black & Green/White) and blow through both of them and see if they flow the same...If they do then I believe you are golden.
I would have to say the flow is about : weeeeeeeeiiiishhhhh! NOT Wooooooosh!, Woooooosh is about the sound of a torn/broken y-pipe coupler :D |
I found an aluminum check valve. It flows air both directions. Is this correct? I didn't see a check valve like this on the parts list. Can anyone help me on this?

I found a pic of the aluminum check valve, but this #@%* message board won't let me upload it. :cursing:

Check this thread and see if it's the same part: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=88176 BTW, I believe attactments are disabled currently. |
Hiram--I've got both of the stock CRV's, if you need them. $12 each, shipped. I'm leaving for a business trip on thursday, so let me know before then.

hey guys...mine does the same. Just curious, can you replace the aluminum check valve with one of the other one's to eliminate that small hose>big hose>small hose. I can explain more if you like. I was down at pettit racing and cameron gave me some off a corvette. they are the same size and work GREAT!!! plus they're like 3 times cheaper
