Upgrading single oil cooler to dual?

Hello,I currently have a touring with 1 oil cooler. But just purchased a set of 99 dual oil coolers with ducting for dirt cheap.no lines ,just coolers.ive searched for install info and can't seem to find answers.

What do I need to install these? I've found duel oil cooler lines forsale but do I need anything else?

Car is single turbo, mild streetport, bridge port. 450 pump. Adaptronics ecu.3.5 exhaust straight from downpipe. Koyo radiator, 2500 miles on rebuild and all parts.trying to keep my oil cooling down sum.

The only line you need is the one that comes from the front of the motor to the right heat exchanger and the line that connects the left and right side heat exchangers together. The left side heat exchanger plumbs to were it goes on the R1 and touring models already. Into the oil filter housing. So essentially a R1 upgrade would be 2 lines and a left side heat exchanger. The mounting points needed are on all RX7s. So its plug and play.

Those look like the regular one oil cooler lines. So the long line is the one that fits onto the oil filter pedestal and should be the same with duals or single. The short one would originally go to the block from the cooler on the left directly. Check this thread for help and pics. It looks like it lays everything out.

EDIT: maybe that short line you have is the one that goes to the hardline that connects the R and L cooler.

Diy oil cooler?

Any advice on diy. 18 to 25 row oil coolers instead of dropping 1400 on sakebombs?

If you stick with the oem lines it will not fit with your front mount setup. I went through this not long ago...

solution for you would be running a custom -10AN line. It’s a fairly easy setup... I will share some pictures later on tonight.

A good starting point would be Banzai Racing's website - they list out all the typical parts & quantities you would need to fabricate a DIY dual cooler setup. I don't think they sell it as a "kit", but they do have their own cooler brackets, and can sell you the rest of the parts individually (or you can get that stuff elsewhere)

Building your own is almost as expensive as going with the SB kit, esp if you use Setrab coolers. If you already have the stock R1/R2 cooler, you may just want to install that and see how it does (see below). I'd have any old cooler cleaned before using

Good advice here. The oil travels from coolers into the oil filter pedestal, so there's a good change the oil filter might catch any debris and prevent it from getting into the engine. But the oil filter can bypass so it's still a good idea to get the cooler cleaned just in case.

How much did the "dirt cheap" dual oil cooler from the 99 spec car set you back?

I literally just installed the Sakebomb Garage 19 row street set over labor day, taking out the original hard line from the oil pedestal to the left cooler (for the first time) is the absolute biggest PITA. If I were to do it again I would just hack off the bracket (it's pretty small anyway).

Good luck with the build -- don't forget all the adapters, washers, nuts, and bolts!

Doing the 25 row setrab coolers from banzai racing. Literally saved like 400 getting it from banzai over sakebomb. Just have to put together hoses myself.thats it.
