trying to get to 500hp

ok so first let me explain what i have and whats been told....

i have a 93 rx7 with a street port, black super seals and goopy heavy duty bolts to fortify the engine...bosch 044 fuel pump, from mount intercooler greedy, stock primarys 1600cc secondarys, microtech ecu ..gato custom turbo singe manifold..borg warner s360 turbo ,,3" cat back...

so i tune my car a few months ago and it makes 435 to the wheels with racing spark plugs and 93 pump gas..i took the racing spark plugs out because i dont like how it takes a little longer to start the car with them and how fast they go bad....so im talking to my tuner today and he says the max boost we can do is 19 psi which is where it is right now....anything more then that we would need c16 which im not interested in using i guess im kinda wondering is that really the max boost i can use???? and am im gonna hit 500hp with my setup///btw i live in florida and the temp is about 75 during the day

wrong section. also you double posted.

you should have posted in the forum right above this one. here is the link:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/

the "build threads" section (this one) is reserved for peoples photo/logs of their builds, not general Q&A about tech issues.

You're running 19-psi on pump gas with no water/meth injection?

Sounds like you need to cruise down to the Auxiliary Injection section and start reading......

There is only 2 ways to achieve big numbers on pump.....

1. Massive turbo... Keeps combustion pressure & intake temps low while pushing large volumes of air. The spool extremely slow, but you get the desired effect.

2. Auxiliary Injection.... The answer to all your mid-size turbo needs :). Keeping temps low, detonation away, and allows you to crank the boost. Many different variations... just read.

Who tunes the car?

buffrx7 11-08-11 06:43 AM

kilo racing

XLR8 11-08-11 11:14 AM

It's not some big ball'd magic formula. You can tune conservatively or tune closer to the edge. High boost without auxilary injection is playing with fire. Every tank of gas is not created equal. Granted, Kilo has a good reputation, and you are following their advice.

With your turbo, 500hp or close is attainable with water injection. Granted, your fuel setup will need upgraded and ensure your clutch is up to the task.

Alex Rodriguez 11-08-11 04:57 PM

If KILO tuned your car he will get you to 500+ just ask him. Asking this forum without previously searching will get you nowhere. Now Jesus is like family to me and when he says -"safe" leave it alone if he says "get this and that" then do that.

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:20 PM

ok alex youre making it sound like im talking down about kilo and im not hes the man fact hands down....but he told me with what i have its not gonna get me to 500hp the forums is so i can explore different options so maybe i can get to 500hp i was told to run e85 and c16 which i dont want to do so im trying to explore differnet options thats all....soooooo if you have nothing positive to add to what im trying to accomplish then you telling everyone that hes like family to you definitely doesnt help me so keep it to yourself thanks you

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:21 PM

and i did find out to get to 500hp im gonna go with a bigger turbo for less boost so i can hit 500hp something i did learn on this very forum that i started.....im not gonna go meth injection because i dont want to rely on something that could fail and blow my motor

864angel112 11-08-11 05:25 PM

Listen to your tunner or spend more money

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:26 PM

gonna spend more money and get a bigger turbo!!!

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:28 PM

DUDE

WTH is your problem no one is saying that you are talking down about KILO.

1st of all You make a thread here asking to get to 500whp right? DID YOU SEARCH? theres easily over 10 threads .

2nd I dont have any negative intentions, I simply told you what your tuner has told you or am I wrong.

Did not want you to feel like I am bashing you.

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:41 PM

and yes alex i did look and most talk about meth injection which i said is something im not interested in im just trying to explore different options for the build that i have thats all

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:42 PM

or they talk about running e85 and c16 and i dont want to do that either i just wanted to see how to get 500hp on pump gas

Alex Rodriguez 11-08-11 05:45 PM

check this out so you can get an idea of turbos
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=500whp

The only problem is the heat. I am from Kissimmee so I know what you mean. Going auxilary injection will help you get there but Kilo doesnt like them. But he will do what you want.

Going e85 if the car is a daily driver you are running into gas station issues. If you are in orlando theres a few stations.

C16 - Are you going to drag the car? Because thats all its going to be good for.

If you want a reliable "DAILY DRIVEN" 500whp set up kilo already told you what you need bro.

oo7arkman 11-08-11 05:52 PM

Do you need 500whp every time you drive the car? If not (which is 99.999999% of us) then a good solution to your problem is to add water/meth injection and tune the car for high boost, and just set your boost controller to lower boost (where you don't want to use the AI) and when you need more power to select the higher boost setting.

Really the thought of AI failure is certainly not impossible, but would have close to the same failure rate as your fuel pump (that will also destroy your motor if it goes out during boost). That is why many good, reliable systems will have a failsafe and trip your boost controller lowering boost to safe levels OR altering fuel/timing map to safe the motor.

Also, read the MANY MANY threads on here on why it is a good idea on ALL rotary engines, not just high HP configurations.**edit just read your comment on you reading the AI threads** You asked how to get to 500, don't be offended if you don't like the most sensible answer. Most of the guys trying to help you have a bit of experience with rotaries.

You don't have to inject methanol, or a mixture of it really. Water alone is a knock deterrent and what you are after at high boost.

The other option is to change your turbo. To get more power you will need a higher volume of air at the same or lower pressure. Depending on what you choose you will sacrifice more low-rpm power making the car less fun to drive around town.

Also, you will most likely need to upgrade your primary injectors from the 550cc stockers.

buffrx7 11-08-11 05:58 PM

yeah i live in kissimmee too

i spoke to kilo today he told me the samething he doesnt like meth kits so thats out the window

e85 fillup is in occee and michigan ave downtown...hella far away

and c16 is like a 100 bucks for 5 gallons sooo thats a no go and my car isnt a daily driver but still that shit is expensive

buffrx7 11-08-11 06:06 PM

youre right meth is a good way to get more power but if i were to get it...if wouldnt be to extract the extra power out it if but more for safety..like i said before my tuner doesnt like it so i wanted to find another option.....wasnt aware though about running straight water would i need to retune just to do the water only and not the meth

Don't know where your buying C-16 from but down here in S. Fl it's $75 for 5 gals..
Also, you can get C-12 for $55 for 5 gals. If it's not your daily then it's not to bad.

Kilo probably doesn't like Meth because it's something you have to fine tune for

If you use straight up water injection, it essentially does the same thing as meth, and you do not have to tune for it.

jm93rx7 11-08-11 07:08 PM

C12 non daily here also.

buffrx7 11-08-11 07:11 PM

well then if thats the cast zeroG im picking it up tomorrow...not having to retune..run water and make my car less prone to detonation im in
