Try CorkSport.com. I was thinking of doing this but then I have the engine torque brace and a IC pipe for the M2 IC large so it may not work.

RE-Amemiya 11-08-06 01:21 PM

Woah, never seen one of those before; at least i can't remember.

treceb 11-08-06 01:26 PM

Thanks for the heads up. On the site in the upper right hand corner it states it is under new management as of april of this year. Who knows if that is a lie though. Looks like a pretty good deal at $150.00. Anyone feel like testing this out and letting us know?

autoexe does have something like that
and that won't work for your fd

NissanConvert 11-09-06 09:49 AM

So who makes one that isn't a "bad guy" alternatively who can weld and wouldn't mind setting up a gb.

In other news i'd also be interested in a torque brace and a one piece triangulated strut bar and torque brace would be teh seks.

afgmoto1978 11-09-06 12:07 PM

I got one of those CP bars and it was total shit as far as a quality part. Didn't even put it on, I mean the holes were plasma cut and they didn't even remove the burs. Welds were sloppy and the paint came off with one brake clean wipe.

I'm thinking of getting an AutoExe unit, but f'n expensive. May make my own.

WaLieN 11-09-06 03:23 PM

You also should ask yourself if the firewall is a good place to mount something that will apply force on it.

Punished 11-09-06 03:33 PM

well, it stiffens the chassis up nicely. I know of a lot of cars you can get a 3 point strut bar put on. Of course in an accident if it doesn't fold over it will come right through the center of your dash.

catch-22 11-09-06 04:06 PM

didnt mazdatrix do one like that for the fc?

mono4lamar 11-09-06 08:21 PM

if anything get the carbing bar... theres some guy on here that can source them! if you find him let me know i'll get in for a group buy.

FDNewbie 11-09-06 09:25 PM

I still don't know why you guys don't bother asking me :nono: lol. There are quite a few companies that make these style strut tower to firewall braces. These include (off the top of my head) and are in no way limited to Carbing, AutoExe, R-Magic, IFS, etc. If I had more time, I'd list a bunch of 'em along w/ pics too...(which I'm planning on doing on my website once I get a chance to breathe haha).

Lemme know if I can help anyone source 'em (or anything else for that matter) :D

Thanks!

Dude - I have the Feed engine torque damper and the IC pipe for the M2 Large IC, will the AutoExe fit?

BTW - I used to live in NoVA for 23 years, specifically Alexandria, BB RX7 Touring with OZ Mito wheels. Have we met?

Very good question... Does your setup clear the OEM R1 strut bar? Cuz if it does, chances are it'll clear the AutoExe as well.

Yea I remember your location showing "DC" or something like that. I THINK we may have met at least once, the last time I can recall being the meet near Rock Creek Park off of 495 a year or so ago (when Ray Crowe, John Duff, and a few other guys were hosting a raffle etc)? I'm pretty sure I remember your FD too, now that you mention the OZ wheels.
