Woah, never seen one of those before; at least i can't remember.
|
that one in the pic is from http://www.cpracing.ca/
|
I had a thread on this a while ago:

Perform a search under 'cpracing' in the bad guy section. be careful ordering from that guy.....

So who makes one that isn't a "bad guy" alternatively who can weld and wouldn't mind setting up a gb.
In other news i'd also be interested in a torque brace and a one piece triangulated strut bar and torque brace would be teh seks. |
I got one of those CP bars and it was total shit as far as a quality part. Didn't even put it on, I mean the holes were plasma cut and they didn't even remove the burs. Welds were sloppy and the paint came off with one brake clean wipe.
I'm thinking of getting an AutoExe unit, but f'n expensive. May make my own. |
You also should ask yourself if the firewall is a good place to mount something that will apply force on it.
|
well, it stiffens the chassis up nicely. I know of a lot of cars you can get a 3 point strut bar put on. Of course in an accident if it doesn't fold over it will come right through the center of your dash.
|
didnt mazdatrix do one like that for the fc?
|
if anything get the carbing bar... theres some guy on here that can source them! if you find him let me know i'll get in for a group buy.
|
I still don't know why you guys don't bother asking me :nono: lol. There are quite a few companies that make these style strut tower to firewall braces. These include (off the top of my head) and are in no way limited to Carbing, AutoExe, R-Magic, IFS, etc. If I had more time, I'd list a bunch of 'em along w/ pics too...(which I'm planning on doing on my website once I get a chance to breathe haha).
Lemme know if I can help anyone source 'em (or anything else for that matter) :D Thanks! ~Ramy :) FDNewbie Imports |

The AutoExe from corksport is bad ass.
|
The AutoExe from FDNewbie Imports is even better :D

BTW - I used to live in NoVA for 23 years, specifically Alexandria, BB RX7 Touring with OZ Mito wheels. Have we met? |

you almost certainly won't get a feed-style torque brace to fit with the autoexe front brace - it also doesn't work with automatic FDs
|
OMG I dunno how I forgot one of the NICEST triangulated strut bars! :banghead:

^^^ yeah uhhh ramy hook "this guy" up with a price on that. or post some prices for a group buy. if thats out of your reach right now how about a carbing?
-Lance |
Lance, I generally don't like posting prices in threads, but lets just say it's a bit over $400 for that beauty. Having said that...
1) I can definitely run a GB, but I'd need some solid committment (ie deposit) and a substantial # of ppl (10 or so) to do that. And yes, the price would be cheaper. Shipping on such an awkwardly shaped item would not be fun though. If you think there's serious interest (about this or anything else for that matter), feel free to start a GB feeler thread in my vendor section, and take the onus to gather interest and spread the word about it. If the interest is there, I'll be happy to do it :) 2) With or without a GB, I'll beat anyone else's price on 'em :D Thanks! ~Ramy FDNewbie Imports |

Ohhhh man lol. That was wayyy below the belt  I typically respond within 2 - 5 days, but every few weeks, I have to put everything aside for a week or so while I'm studying for an exam. I don't do this full-time... ;)

^ excellent point! ramy care to chime in here?
|
I'm w/ Mahjik :D I can ask RE about it, but from my inexperienced eyes, it looks to have a good bit of clearance. I'd be surprised if it didn't clear...

here's the hting tho, that curved bar becomes pretty useless doesn't it because it has a weak point (the bend in it), and won't be as stiff as the other side with the unkinked straight bar from the strut tower to the firewall.
Autoexe's new system for the FD have unbent triangulated bars runing all around and might be a better choice from an engineering standpoint. I may be wrong, feel free to jump in and correct me on that, i just don't think that those curved bars will do as much good. here's a pic of the more involved autoexe system http://www.autoexe.co.jp/english/fun...towerbrace.jpg |

RE Amemiya: http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/commodit...ga_bar_all.jpg Yeah this is indeed a very nice bar, I use it myself the only incompatibility is that in order to connect the rear section, you have to drill the firewall, and it just so happens to line up with the vin number (japan vin numbers are shorter, US is longer) |
