Thread of Engine Orders from IR Performance

I and many others have been waiting years for our engines from IR Performance with no reliable contact or realistic ETAs. I decided to start a thread to try and gather everyone who is waiting for an engine in one place that we could keep track of.

This is the list that I have compiled so far, please reply if you have ordered an engine from IRP so I could add you to the list.
*note that these all have been paid for in full beforehand.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • @Fakieskater -----Ordered Oct 2020, Not received
  • @Parcham79 -----Ordered Mar 2021, Not received
  • NDVR ------------------Ordered Apr 2021, Refunded
  • @mazda2nvblue Ordered Aug 2021, Not received
  • @trident -----------Ordered Aug 2021, Not received
  • @ltbigtoe ----------Ordered Sept 2021, Not received.
Some other info I have gathered regarding engines:
  • Sakebomb Garage received a batch of engines September 2022.
  • Mazdatrix received a batch of 3 engines September 2022.
  • Mazdatrix received another batch of 4 engines December 2022.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am curious if anyone has even received an engine from IR Performance in the last 2-3 years. I understand that covid has created huge supply chain issues but some of us have waited over 2 years with no reliable contact. The delay is understandable to a point but some transparency would be nice.

It would be great if they created a public spreadsheet with an ordered list of everyone waiting, which took me 5 minutes to make one myself. Also doesn't make sense why they can't just refund the orders and move other people up the list when supposedly they don't even get charged until the engines ship from Mazda.

a little birdy whispered in my ear the other day that there might be some coming in June.

I would expect most if not all may be spoken for for fulfilling backorders.

it wasn’t him, but likely as or more reliable of a source. The same who told me my backordered iron plates should be shipping soon last week, which then shipped this week.

nice come back though 🤣

i heard the motors were going to arrive in June, from Ray Crowe, that was June 2022.

i also heard, today, from a reliable source re an internal Mazda email that it might be a year from now.

i also heard Aaron Rodgers might be going to the Jets.

Sounds not dissimilar to the prediction of economists:
reliable predicted 13 of the last recessions.

In November of 2022 Ray Crowe quoted me 2 month turn around on a new order.

didn't mean to knock Ray, he is a great guy, and no doubt is just passing on what he learns from Mazda. i hear speculation that Mazda is using the facility that builds new BREWs to build the range extender. sounds plausible but just a guess. if so, it could be a very long wait for motors.
or not.

then there's pricing... i asked my source and he said around $5700. that would be a price on something that doesn't exist. it will be interesting to see the number when/if they actually materialize

i think this is probably what is going on. if you had a rotary engine factory wouldn't you build the new rotary engine in it?

as posted on the forum, some people are now receiving REW engines from Japan that weren’t ordered very long ago; so earlier than June even

but what about the IRP customers on the list? 🤔
