Do 3rd Gen Rx7's typically have problems with theft?

aside from busting out a window, they are pretty damn hard to get into... i've had locksmith's cursing at my FD on the two occasions the key's were locked in it while it was running (don't ask, please), both times they gave up their attempts w/ "slim-jims" and the like, and broke out old-fashioned lockpicks (!) and did it that way, not that easy then either... on the other hand, i've had a window broken out on three different occasions, and massive theftage was unleashed...

I don't think it's a common occurence with 3rd gens, but if someone wants you car badly enough they will go to great (and sometimes successful) lengths to rob you of it.

The factory system has a starter kill on it. A kill switch is a pretty good idea. You can remove the fuel pump fuse to accomplish the same thing but that's more of a pain than a well hidden kill switch.

I had a car (not my FD) stolen by a tow truck driver. He just hooked up to the back of it and took it like it was being repo'd. They can do it pretty fast, and nobody ever asks any questions when they see something like that happening, they just assume the owner wasn't making payments. So you may want to consider how (and where) you park the car.

Try the Unbreakable AutoLock to lock your clutch...See what anyone can do about that.

as far as it being an attractive car..yeah. But as long as you keep that in mind, and park it in the right areas, keep an eye on it, etc.

you wouldn't have to worry about it any more than a moded Civic Si, I dont think.
