Stud In Main Cat?

Anybody ever replace the stud in the main cat? The stud is on the drivers side between the downpipe and maincat. My question is do I have to replace it with an OEM part from mazda or can I use some sort of stainless bolt etc. Somebody out there must know about nuts............and bolts.

After trying to remove my broken stud with a torch I ended up drilling it out and using a bolt. Total PITA.

I think I have 2 stainless bolts in one half of my midpipe and 2 "whatever I had around" bolts in the other half. Doesn't really matter. Stainless is nice and will be easier to pull off next time..
