Is this a structurally important piece?

I was wondering if the crossbar that goes behind the radiator is important structurally? I believe that it is used for a mounting point for the stock airbox, intercooler and battery. I am installing a Koyo Rad and Blitz FMIC and the fan shroud seems to get in the way.

Thanks,
Grant

I threw mine out when I put my FMIC in too, its too flimsy to be used for any type of support I would guess...

That part is not very strong and only supports a small amount of weight . My mechanic made a replacement part that is adjustable on each end to align the innercooler to its duct and to keep the innercooler from touching the hood . Just make what you need out of steel or modify the part you have .

Correct! IMO, I agree that it is to flimsy. i just did a FM kit and just left it out.(Looks better in there without it anyways!)

I took it out to make room for some air ducting ot my filter. Its way too flimsy to support anything. If you are concerend the get the JIC lower tie bar.

I was not really concerned about it. I pretty much was thinking along the same lines as everyone else, it's just to flismy to be anything important. I ws mainly looking for a conformation. Thanks for the help.
