street port on stock FD?
hey guys
i just pulled my engine and am about to send it off to have it rebuilt (blew a coolant seal). i was just wondering weather i should tell him to street port it while its opened up, my car is almost a 100% stock. am i gonna notice any diffrence if i do a street port? my only real future plans for it are to put the jspec twins. so am i reeally gonna benifit from a street port? |
You will not benefit from a streetport on a stock car. You need to open the intake and exhaust to realize any benefits.

what do you want out of the car?.. if I were you I would do the street port. put an intake and complete exhaust on the car (dp, hf cat, catback). followed by a pfc, tuning, and radiator. this will put you in the 325 to 330 hp range on stock twins at 11 to 12 psi. plenty of power for a street car and still be a daily driver. do it right while you have it out of the car and form a plan with what you want out of the car . you will save a lot of money this way.

jeff p, that is the exact same setup as my new fd and it dynoed at 310 to the rear wheels.

yeah im not trying to go huge i went crazy with my FC and now i hardly drive it. ok one more question are there any reliability issues with the streetport? cause im not trying to rebuild it in another 20k miles. thanks

No reliability issues with a mild streetport.

I had mine street ported at rebuild. Then add the rest as money was available. I still run stock twins and an very happy, but if i decide to go extreme then I don't have to pull the engine.
