speedometer and rev gauge
hello...a week ago the speedometer and the rev gauge stopped workin....
i checked the cables behine , disconnected them and connected them again...but nothin! yesterday it worked again for 2 hours... then i stopped the car and nextx time i turnt it on it stopped workin again! any idea? everythin else works ok , (gas , water temp , oil pressure) |
Bad connection to the speedo or the line on the bottom of the car is almost coming out but not quite out yet is what i would guess, and you can find where that line or cable goes to in the FSM.

in wich section should i look for this cable?

i just had this exact same problem. After the speedo and all wiring to the gauges checked out it turned to be a burned out transistor on the circuit board for the odometer.
I have a bunch of close up pics but they are on another computer. Luckily i had a spare gauge set and all i did was swap the odometer and got all my guages working again. It was also pretty visible to actually see what had failed on the circuit board. hope that helps |
Take out your speedometer. Look under the bottom right hand corner. I just did this to mine and it wasnt working because i have 4 blown resistors, and a blown transistor. You can tell because the top of the circuit board will be burnt around where it is connected.
