Question Speedometer accuracy

Hello. My imported 1999 RB had its speedmeter recalibrated from kmh to mph, but still retains its 0-180 dial. At approximately 3500 rpm it is travelling at an indicated 80mph. My transmission and rear axle are stock. Does this seem reasonably accurate or is it wildly optimistic?

Here is a dashboard pic of another RX-7 which is identical to mine and comes from the same source. Any comments as to the calibration?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Being that speedometers are not mandatory on a car...they only have to be accurate within five miles per hour of the actual speed of the car.

If you know anyone that has a portable GPS use it to calibrate your speedo. I just had a friend ride with me and I would set the cruse to a variety of speeds and he would verify them for me.

You could order some of the Jap FDs with 4.30 gears. I dont really think they should be comparing it to the US spec FDs.....
