what do you mean? its a 20b on stock subframe, stock steering rack, lowered the sway bar about 1", coilovers, 19" wheels, lowered.

gordon, i dont need a subframe kit.. im just looking for the bump steer kit.

i know pettit and hinson sale one for $150 but i was wondering if there was others

So if you have the stock subframe in the stock location and stock, unmodified steering rack in the stock location, then none of the stock steering geometry has changed. Therefore you shouldn't have any bumpsteer.

How exactly did you determine you have bumpsteer?

I think he has it lowered so much that whenever he hits a bump he's in the next lane. On the FD, you can't lower more than say an inch max before you run into this problem. I'm only lower than stock by something like 3/4 inch. Any lower and I get all kinds of issues on bumps.

The original bumpsteer kit had an extension out at the knuckle of the hub. The new hinson kit has an extension from the rack end so that seemed to be better. However, the kit looked too homemade to me. Is this the "business perspective" you're referring to?

I'm also wondering how you have "bumpsteer"? You sure you're running a stock subframe? If you are post pictures, I'd like to see the setup.

Wouldn't any "bumpsteer kit" have to match whatever subframe you're using in order to work anyway, unless they are adjustable?

Right, but I think you'd need to be able to adjust the height of the steering arm attached to the hub carrier. Ultimately, you're modifying the relative height/angle of the arm to coincide with a relocated steering rack, so the precision of the geometry is key.

I could be wrong but aren't your tie rods on upside down? IIRC, they should mount from under the control arm.

Dude - that is DEFINITELY NOT a stock sub-frame you have there. Ride height looked about right but you are missing part of the subframe towards the front of the engine.

I bet when you hit a bump you're 3 lanes over eh?

if they do mount from under the control arm then they are upside down.. wow i can't the place where i took the car to get them install did this..


no i dont go over 3 lanes.. the car feels fine except for small cracks on the road.
i know what you are talking about but u can't see much from the angle of these pictures, and yes it is a stock subframe. i'll take some pictures from under once i get the car to a lift.

i think my bumpsteer problem is because some idiot at the shop where i took the car to get the tie rods installed put them upside down

Compare the location of your tie-rod with mine below: your tie-rod is definitely set way too low either because you have the car lowered so much or the sub-frame has been shifted downward somehow.

The other side. Yeah it gets dirty when you blow your oil cooler lines twice and dump 5 quarts each time.

Its hard to tell from your pics but something doesn't look right with the way your tie rods are angled. Pull a wheel off and compare with poman's pics.

Does this mean you are not going to share with me your temp lowering fix?:) Come on man, I gave up Megan Racing as a possible solution!
