Socket Sizes for Trans/Diff Drain Plugs

I'm changing my trans/diff fluid for the first time on my FD this weekend, anyone have the socket size for the drain plug on hand? Assuming it is in the range of 22-24mm based on the pics I've seen?

For the diff, sounds like the drain is 24 and the fill is 23 (maybe have those crossed.)

Cheers

If I remember right the fill plugs on the transmission are actually just kinda weird square things. You're supposed to seal them with thread tape when you put them back on I think.

From memory, I think the drain plug on the transmission is the same as the drain plug on the diff. I don't remember the exact size though.

Thanks Dorito, I've heard that about the fill plugs too. I made sure to buy some thread seal tape when I grabbed a new transfer pump :icon_tup:

Just wanted to see if I needed to buy sockets, my set only goes up to 19 and anything above is just random stuff I bought when I needed it in the past. I have 23mm and 24mm though.

Should list the sizes. They are probably also in the service manual somewhere.

I didn't see them listed in the service manual, only the torque specs. This works though.

That's actually an excellent idea, I don't know why it never occurred to me to grab one of those. Much more efficient than me eyeing it and bringing three sockets I think may work under the car with me haha.

12 and 14mm open ended wrenches for the fill and 2nd drain. 24mm socket for the bottom drain.

Awesome, thank you!

23 and 24 is what I have for the Miata and I think I use both of them on the FD's diff as well but it's been a while...
I bought open end wrenches aka crescent wrenches? for the diff since there wasn't enough room to fit a socket and ratchet on there. Again, can't remember if that was with the FD or Miata...
Getting old sucks..

I think the only reason I have a 23mm and 24mm is doing this on my old RX8 so honestly this sounds familiar lmao.
