so which is the better 3rd gen? touring, r1, or r2?

I think Car and Driver said it best back in 91 or 92, "If you are on the street and explore the difference between the R1 and Touring, get out of the car, put your hands on the roof, and wait for the cops to arrive." (I am paraprasing here).

I have all the back issues from C/D and R/T.

The acceleration is the same, handling is close enough to the same. Can you really feel the difference between .98 and .96 G's?
Can you even drive that well? Do you think a 9 year old R1 is going to handle the same as new, or a low mileage touring?
Are going to modify it?
