shineauto side step review FD
I am trying to get a pair of side step (not the skirt) fromshine but it seems like they have the type GT and type S but hard to tell the difference between them. Tried calling shine 10000 time they never answer. Does anyone know the difference in looks between these two and how do u go about installing them? Thanks
Well, they are two different shapes. Check out the pics and you can see. I've got the GT ones and they look really nice with my Pettit wide body rear flares. Most guys I know have all gone with the GT style ones as they seem to fit all body kits and types. The S ones seem to be made just for the S side skirts but I could be wrong.
As for mounting, I had someone help me to position them on the car and then I predrilled a hole thru the side step and into the car metal in the front and then in the rear, on the bottom of the car and far enough in you can't see the holes or screws. I then used stainless self-tapping screws to bolt them up. Repeated this about every 6 inches as you can't have too many screws holding them up and I didn't want them to sag.
I really like the way they turned out as it blends in my front with the wide back end. Hope this helps.

Shine's "Type-S" stands for "Type Sanai Works" aka Shine's replicas of the Sanai Works body kit. The Type-S sidesteps are designed to work with the Type-S sideskirts.
Here's a photo of them with the lower parts as well:

If you have the Sanai Works sideskirts, then you would get the "Type-S" sidesteps.
Otherwise, you'll need the need Shine's "Type-GT" sidesteps which are really just replicas of the FEED sidesteps. The "Type-GT" / FEED sidesteps will work without any additional sideskirt body pieces, and are compatible with most of the aftermarket front fenders too.

thanks a lot guys! good info and picture. So my body is stock and all I want to put on it is 99 spec lip, shine side step and OEM rear mud flaps. Will the type GT fit the stock sides of a 94? Then since I don't have aftermarket skirts, do I just drill into the body of the car then?
