Setup for 350 hp

Hi,
Is it possible to get 350 hp from stock twins?
If, what more do I need?
At the moment I just have the Power FC w Commander and catback.
But during the spring i will buy following stuffs:
Catback (new one)
Downpipe
AST
Power Intake

What more do I need? FMIC?
Help my guys, its hard to find help here in Sweden :(

you'll need to start with the relliability mods first. radiator, fmic/smic, vacuum hose,etc... 350 hp has been done, but at high psi which is not recommended with the stock twins.

But aren't typical "stage packages" putting out around 350 flywheel horsepower? Like Pettit base and M2 stage three? That is with stock turbos. I think they run about 320 rear wheel.

Check this thread about a car making around 350 rwhp:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=135157

However, using stock twins, you'll probably need the motor ported to get numbers like that.

R Xplicit 01-20-03 06:11 PM

look a few threads down.

one is the bnr turbos hit the track
the other is 400+ hp from twins...

just do some reading and see what you think. every car will react different to the staged mods, but they are all typically similiar. you will need a good motor as a platform. do not be dissappointed if your car has like 85-100,000 miles on it, not likely though, and make sure that it has good compression to start and then get a loan for about 5K....

It's tough to do reliably on stock twins without a ported motor. Figure on

Full exhaust, IC, ecu, streetport, intake and 13-15 psi and you'll see 350 rwhp easily. Make sure you have atleast 1200cc injectors and fuel pump. Without a port you'll have to run atleast 15-16 psi which isn't recommended on the stock twins for long periods of time.

SpiritR 01-20-03 08:51 PM

I have seen 400hp on stock twins, with a lot of other goodies.

Mr rx-7 tt 01-20-03 11:00 PM

350 rwhp (411 fwhp) can be made with all the bolt ons and stock block @ 15/16 psi. If you port the motor with all the bolt ons you can make 370 rwhp (435 fwhp) at 15 psi...

at the wheels? post some sheets please. A/F ratio? list of mods..

ArchangelX 01-20-03 11:18 PM

Hmm...you guys say as long as it's streetported, but what TYPE of streetport, small, large?

What about with a small streetport...would that make it more reliable without severely affecting the Seven's streetability?

I'm getting a small streetport...but I was told if I like to use it as a semi-daily driver that a large streetport wouldn't be a good idea.

What's everyone's opinions on it?

spoolin93r1 01-20-03 11:20 PM

i layed down 303.2 rwhp sae, and 312rwhp standard on stock twins, stock intercooler, and a really low compression motor. that should be right at 350fwhp. only mods i have are pfc/commander, mp, dp, and cat-back. i'm looking to get at least 360rwhp when i get the new motor and the rest of my goodies installed soon

ArchangelX 01-21-03 12:30 AM

?

actionhank 01-21-03 01:33 AM

if i may throw my worthless ideas in...

Ok, IC, DP, Catback, Intake, ECU and say BNR stage 2s couldnt you get into the high 300hp range? Even with out a street port you should be able to get a healthy 350 RWHP couldnt you?

Im not sure if its at the wheels. It was on the FEED car
before they changed to a single. I saw it in a old Hyper Rev, I can try to find it

BNA_ELLIS 01-21-03 03:57 AM

Are you talking 350 bhp at the flywheel or at the wheels??

Flywheel, its most common to talking about that i sweden.
But do you guys think I can fix it without streetport and with stock turbos? Rebuild to non-sq?

BNA_ELLIS 01-21-03 06:53 AM

If you want 350 at the flywheel that is no problem, You do not need a streetport either. First step is a good engine, the stock rx7 has 255bhp as new but it's extremely unlikely that a rx7 with say 50,000 miles on the clock is gonna have full compression and produce 255bhp if you add a catback downpipe hiflow cat you should hit 300 bhp, if you have induction kit and intercooler and apexi powerfc tuned you will hit 350 bhp at the wheels, but it all starts with a good engine.

With my mods on a rebuilt, I figure I have about 320 RWHP.

What do you think?

I did it look at the sig.
