??'s On Injector Size

hey guys just wondering if 1600cc inj. would be to big with these mods : full exhaust from down pipe to all the way to tailpipe, pfc ,fmic, apexi intake ,fuel pump{255} ,polished turbo piping, msd wires ,ngk platinum ,and greddy elbo.please let me know what u think?thanx

Flyinbiya 03-26-03 10:12 AM

i also would like to run about 13-15 psi on my stock twins

Mahjik 03-26-03 10:23 AM

1600 are going to be overkill IMO.

There are people running the stock injectors at 15 PSI here on the forum and have been doing it for years without problems.

However, if you need upgraded injectors, go with something like 1300. You don't need a modified fuel rail or any other modifications to install them like you would the 1600's.

dubulup 03-26-03 10:34 AM

Might be too much especially if you have polished turbo piping ;)

Flyinbiya 03-26-03 12:00 PM

so i would nt need the pressure regulator with the 1300cc?couldnt i use the pfc and go down on the duty% on the 1600's?i have just found a really good deal on a reg, guage ,rail and inj.

Flyinbiya 03-26-03 12:04 PM

i mightgo single soon if i;m not happy with the results of this setup .how much hp's would the 1300's support ?

Flyinbiya 03-26-03 12:06 PM

and what does IMO mean anyway ?and dont torch me i havent been in the rotary would long ,but i have plenty of knowledge on HP.

Funny how you note the above mods to determine if you need 1600cc injectors or not.

In any case, there are many options for you if you have the PFC. You could put some secondaries in the primary slots, or you can upgrade 1300cc. The thing is that ALL 1300cc injectors are actually bored out 850s. Some pepole have had no problme with these, some have. 1600cc isn't a bad thing, but when your car transisions from primary to secondary, its' making a huge jump. Also, when you are just commuting or not driving hard, the pulse width of the 1600cc is going to be very small and out of it's efficiency range.

Also consider your future plans. do you see a huge single turbo in your future?

You can run 13-14psi on teh stock turbos just fine, even with the stock injectors, but i'd check the a/f to be sure.

If you have properly sized injectors, you don't need to worry about RRFPR. If you just want an aftermarket FPR, why not....

As far as the PFC, it doesn't support low resistance injectors. You need to use a resistor for the PFC and 1600cc injectors:

so 1300 would be the best ?what about if i put the 850's in the primary rails will i need a resistor ?i heard the 850's dont fit to well into the primay rail ?this true ?

850's could work with an added O-ring...go to wade's site to read about fuel issues; Good site.

rxrotary2_7 03-26-03 07:12 PM

if you are planning on going single, i would suguest to "shit or get off the pot" now. if you go the other way (1300) and need more fuel latter, you will end up spending more in the long run. i make some top feed rails if interested. :) https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=162060

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 06:43 AM

who is wade and what site is it ?

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 06:49 AM

how much hp will 1300 support ?

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 06:51 AM

i 've considering the GT3540 kit ?any comments with injectors with this set up ?i'm just full of questions !!

Wade's site says (w/ 550 pri) about 475rwhp at 100% duty cycle and 405 at 85% duty cycle.

no comments on going single...save some money and get a rebuild/upgrade to BNR stage III's.

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 07:10 AM

Don't know, maybe Charlie and Co. at Mazcare (Marietta just north of ATL)...they offered to tune my PFS PMC (even though they didn't know anything about it), and mentioned they prefer pfc's give them a call 770.859.9643

I tuned my PMC, using Arthur's Dynolab in Marietta, also.

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 07:20 AM

yea i have thought about the stage 3 bnr's ,but i just dont want to get those and wish that iwould hae bought the GT kit .you think that BNR's could produce 450 RWHP?without streetport and making this thing a time bomb?

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 07:24 AM

do you think that the pfc controls boost good enough ?i havent installed mine .i just dont want to fuck this up ya know !please dont take me as a stupid ass ,but this turbo rotary shit is new to me and its to exspensive to make an uneducated mistake !

matty 03-27-03 07:37 AM

people with all the boltons with 1300cc injectors are reporting duty cycles in the 60% range...that leaves plenty of margin for error.
I decided to go with 1300cc as well...they go in april 23 at kd along with some 15 psi tuning.

I hear it doesn't and then I hear it does except on cold nights...whateveer, I believe most people do use so sort of boost controller with the pfc.

What are you mods as of now, as far as 450rwhp and a stock motor with III's, um I'm going to say no. Dayem near close to 375rwhp, maybe.

I'm new to the turbo rotary also...until I get more experience with the power I've got (looking for something near 330rwhp, once I tune again, after my project is over)...I won't be doing any major fuel work or turbo upgrading.

Flyinbiya 03-27-03 08:08 AM

do u have the BNR'S?
